We visited Montreal for the weekend and went for brunch at Vegano on the Saturday after reading all these great reviews. After loving every bite we went back the next morning so that we could try another dish on the menu! You have to try this place!!
For our first meal we had croissants which came warmed up with a bit of jam on the side and they were incredible (it's hard to find vegan croissants in Ontario so we were really looking forward to these!) We shared the s'mores french toast which was huuuge but really delicious as well as the potato dish which was also really yummy. Our server was top notch! We left very happy and very full!
The following day our server was friendly but didn't offer the same great experience we had with our first server. We ordered croissants again and this time they came out without having been warmed up and there was no jam on the side (still tasty but not the same as the previous day which we were a bit disappointed about). We thought to mention something but he never came back to the table again. The chef brought out the asparagus omelet that we shared (again absolutely huge portion and really delicious) and our server did not come to check on us until we asked for the bill. We still left very full and satisfied - I'm going to have to figure out this omelet recipe as we really loved the taste and texture! The english muffin was also fantastic. Everything tasted homemade and fresh and we appreciated the passion the chef clearly has for vegan food. We left Montreal on Monday, sad that Vegano was closed or we would have gone back for some more delicious food before heading home :)
I absolutely loved everything about Vegano! We went on Friday night (the only night it's open for dinner). It's the perfect place to go to on a Friday night for dinner when working hard all week. If you're looking for a friendly vibe, with amazingly delicious Italian food (that just so happens to be vegan - and if you're a meat eater, you'll leave super satisfied). The portions are generous, the food is rich and mouth-watering. Plus, the seating is very comfy (booths) with huge windows facing the park. I will definitely be going back. And although I was full by dessert time, Alessandro (chef/owner) was kind enough to offer us dessert on the house...what can I say? WOW! I couldn't believe I was eating vegan. The cakes were so rich and tasty. I highly recommend this place, whether you're vegan or not. It's one of the best restaurants in the city. We're so lucky to have Vegano in Montreal! Everyone should go there. Can't wait to try the brunch on the weekend! :-)
Absolutely loveeee this place. The vibe is great, music selection is awesome, the staff are super nice and helpful, and the owner is an awesome Italian vegan! And the food!!! I've been multiple times and every single thing I tried was absolutely to die for omggg!! This place fills that void of Italian food from Nonna from my pre-vegan days <333
