Went there for a friends birthday and we did have lots of fun. The ambiance is good, the music was good. I would try it again. The cocktails were good
I enjoy going to this neighbourhood place. Their burgers (I've only had the vegetarian ones) are excellent. Drinks are cold and the service is pleasant.
A bit overpriced but worth a taste and a visit.
Sometimes it's dead and sometimes it's packed. You never know!
Ordered a pitcher of berry sangria and fried calamari to start. Service was awesome and the food was tasty. The steak wrap was also delicious. It was a bit overpriced but the atmosphere was fun.
Nice people in a cool place!. Merci encore à JF de Typhoon pour nous avoir accomodé pour l'anniversaire de mon chum. Nous avons eu un plaisir fou. C'était vraiment l'endroit idéal pour une petite fête entre amis!!! C'est certain que nous reviendrons bientôt pour goûter à ce fameux Burger dont tout le monde parle!!! CHeers!!!

Great Burger!. Despite living very close I hadn't had a chance to try Typhoon until yesterday.
I had the Bullseye burger with the thai dumplings on the side.
The burger was really good. Perfect size. A wee-bit over done, so if you're picky about that make sure to order under your preference (as in, if you like it medium-well, order medium-rare).
The dumplings were good, but not as good as an authentic Asian restaurant. good but overrated. For the previous reviewer who thought all dumpling were steamed: nope. There are some that steamed, and other that are steamed then pan-fried. (I LOVE dumplings :) )
I have one note to end with, while being served I noticed the waitress seemed uncomfortable in her dress, she had her arms crossed to block her cleavage. I was wondering why she was wearing a dress that she was uncomfortable in and realized that every woman working in the restaurant was wearing the same tight dress that JUST covered the butt, was skin tight and showed a lot of cleavage. I find this quite distasteful. Its one thing to have a uniform or to ask servers to wear a certain color, it's very much another to stick women into teeny tiny dresses. If the point was to have attactive women serve their customers, here's a newsflash: women can be attractive and not have to be hanging out of their dresses and have the body language of someone who feels exposed.
If I wanted to see women in embarrassing outfits, I would eat at Hooter's.

Great food, Great drinks, Great Atmosphere. Simply a great place to kick back with a drink, or enjoy a terrific meal, or both. Typhoon is a neighborhood hangout for many NDG residents, and a typical destination for Monkland Avenue visitors.
This chill resto lounge offers up some truly delicious food, namely an assortment of burgers for all tastes, salads, and great appetizers (namely the Thai dumplings, Chicken Wings, and Sweet Potato Fries) . You will also find a simple New York sirloin steak, Guiness battered Fish & Chips, and a brand new dish, the "Louisiana Chicken Po'Boy" (which I have not yet tried but sounds interesting).
At one point they had a Baby Back ribs special, which I was fortunate enough to have, and it was fantastic.
The food is satisfyingly wonderful and the service has always been great. I usually like to chill out with a burger plate and a pint of Hoegaarden on the outdoor terrasse in the summer or inside with it's cozy, relaxing charm.
I found the pricing to be generally reasonable with what you are getting, but some dishes really could use a price drop of a couple of bucks. But on the other hand, it is consistant with what you'd expect to pay in an establishment in the Monkland Village.
The drink menu is quite good, with a variety of Martinis and innovative cocktails. Check their website for up to date specials & special events.
If you ever find yourself in the heart of the Monkland village in NDG, Typhoon is a definate must.
