Little gem just off Parc Metro station. I went there right after work with a coworker. I had heard of the reputation of Lyla on Urbanspoon and thought it would be a nice place to have a little chat. The place was quiet, only two tables taken. That said, by the time we left, there were eight other groups.
I was not hungry but thought I would get some pho. My friend came right in and ordered the grilled chicken meal. I saw they had a guanabana shake and wanted ordered that instead (see photo). Durian and Jackfruit are common at many Vietnamese restaurant but I had never tried Guanabana. My friend's meal was great and he liked the salad, although he felt they used French dressing. The Guanabana shake was DELISH!!! That frothy milky fresh sweet taste in my mouth. O.M.G, so happy.
Will definitely go there again plus the waiter was really helpful and took the time to spea about his personal preferences when it came to meal selection.
Fantastic pho. Some of the best pho I've ever had, and really great imperial rolls and other apps. However, I've strayed to other parts of the menu and haven't been overly impressed. Stick to the pho and you'll be happy! Very reasonably priced, too - the bill usually comes out to about $20 for two people.
Great soup and Nice attention from the staff. They were out of bananas for their fried banana so I had to choose some other dessert. A little while later, the waiter arrived with a fried banana on the house! A kitchen staff went out in the frigid cold (-15C) to buy more bananas!
