Wonderful family brunch experience. Unlike other reviewers we found the portions big, the price reasonable and the service great (although a bit slow to bring the orders to the table). Our 4 years old had a blast with the Serrano ham (delicious) cutting machine winch he could watch in action and even help (with proper supervision) to turn the lever. Our 16 years old loved his lobster egg Benedict which came with square potato fries and his extra bacon was delicious and abundant. He stated that he had about the meat from a whole lobster in his plate (w/o the hard work to pull it out). My French toast was made out of a racing filled cake , more than a toast, and it was delicious. I only wish the tea would have been better than just good quality bags. Maybe some commercial alliance with David's tea would be in order (They are just across the street). We will definitely return!
Finally a great neighborhood restaurant in Westmount!. We come almost every Saturday night and we love the casual, yet elegant ambiance. The lovely staff cannot make you feel more welcomed. The Chef offers an original twist on classic French brasserie dishes made with fresh and local ingredients.
Unlike some previous reviewers, we find the price/portions ratio quite reasonable. The dishes are well executed and beautifully presented. This is not the kind of cookie-cutter restaurant you go if you want to “stuff” your face. Brasserie Centrale is a fine-dining restaurant with a neighborhood feel. We love it!
Brass Centrale is my favourite place for amazing, chill brunches and foodie dinners when I want to stay around Westmount /NDG. It's one of those warm local places with a great bar, a small creative brasserie menu and servers who make everyone feel at home. Love it.
The Kouing-amann to end all kouing-amanns. Brasserie Central is my new favourite restaurant in Montreal. The food was delicious (as in swoon-worthy), the wine list was well-edited and unpretentious, the atmosphere is laid-back, the staff friendly and knowledgeable. I've been twice now for dinner and can't wait to go back.
The place is worth a visit even if only the dessert. The Kouing-amann, a Britanny specialty, is a delicious combination of salted butter and sugar, barely held together in layers of pastry. It is notoriously difficult to achieve properly, and the one at Central is better than any I've had in France. Leave it to a chef from Britanny to get it right. Apparently you can even order it for take out!
Beyond the excellent food and great ambiance, I like Central because it's a great neighbourhood restaurant, a place I can see myself going back to over and over again. Loved it!
Westmount Has Definitely Arrived. Tonight we headed out to Central Brasserie with the hopes that this latest addition to Westmount's restaurant scene would reverse the years of mediocrity that this address has witnessed when it housed Mess Hall and the late Well House.
The menu contains new takes on French brasserie classics as well as other seasonal dishes.
In the end, the food spoke for itself and this place is definitely a winner in our book. With chef Rouyé and PARK Restaurant's Antonio Park at the helm, Westmount's newly-established restaurant scene is in good hands.

Westmount's Brasserie Central has decided to take on Saturday and Sunday brunch. This little gem is serious about their brunch. They only began serving Sunday brunch a week and a half ago! And we're thankful they did. From the set-up of the restaurant to the gourmet menu, Brasserie Central is ready to cater to Westmount's every brunching need. The space feels sophisticated, industrial, and chic all at once. The ceiling and walls are adorned with beautiful lighting fixtures, brick walls are painted white and black, and there's lots of eccentric art. A table in the center of the restaurant is set with champagne flutes, freshly squeezed OJ, and champagne, so that your mimosas are ready on-demand. Charcuterie platters are also prepared right in front of you. First-off our lattés were delicious and presented beautifully and the freshly squeezed OJ was perfectly tangy. As for the food- each plate was better than the next. Scroll down to see what we ordered and be prepared to wish it was next Sunday.
