Visiting Montreal for a few days. Hit this place up the first day. Seriously had to go back. If I lived here, it would honestly be my fave joint. Atmosphere, the food, the prices, quality, and the staff are phenomenal. Just can't go wrong. And definitely try the Pissed Off Chihuahua. <- Best shot ever.
Had dinner here for a friend in town from Toronto for her birthday and it did not disappoint! Free refills with the chips and salsa kept coming! Sangria was good and so were the generous portions of delicious food! They even supplied the birthday girl with a Sombrero and fried ice cream dessert with sparklers. I love this place and will be back again.
Cool spot in the new montreal downtown area where shopping and restaurants are plentiful. The restaurant is unique set in a heritage building. Great selection of Mexican favourites although they didn’t have a taco salad. Burrito dishes were large and the margaritas were delicious. Generous portions delivering great value for your money.
Celebrated She Who Must be Obeyed birthday here on April 04th. Made a reservation through Open Table and specifically noted same. Host, server and mgr. were oblivious to noted event. Very generous drink pours (Margarita and Tequila) were enjoyed. She had the Mexican flag enchiladas; I had the Tacos Vampiros. Both came out quickly and piping hot. Also, both were delicious. After notifying our server of the birthday we were treated to a hilarious dear customer version of Happy Birthday and a complimentary dessert. Enjoyed ourselves and ate well. Will be back the next time we are in town.
Went here for our anniversary dinner and it was pretty good I must say. The nachos and the guacamole were amazing. Followed by the spinach and cheese quesadilla and veg fajita. All the dishes were tasty. The ambience and the service was good.

Very quick service and tasty tacos. Had the shrimp tacos that were just the right spicy I like. Would come back again to take advantage of the daily specials.
They have a nice small patio outside which is pretty cool. Given the previous reviews we decided to just have a drink and simple chips and salsa. The piña colada was good with chunks of mango and pineapple in it. The margarita was tasty as well with sugar on the rim and a dallop of whipped cream. The chips were great and the salsa light and simple, the hot sauce on the table was a perfect addition to add a kick of flavour.
The food was pretty decent. I would like to go back and try more of the menu. I found my server a bit rude. I asked for recommendations but he didn't suggest anything and sluffed me off.
What can I say? I've been going to Carlos and Pepe's since they were a little hole in the wall on Stanley street! I went today and much to my surprise, the renovations are super stylish, elegant, cosy and rustic. I was upstairs which was quiet and spacious. The service was impeccable, our waiter was super friendly, helpful and knowledgable.
I was there during happy hour so I ordered a mango daiquiri - served with a lime wedge and fresh mango slices. My meal was the enchiladas (it's called the Mexican flag I believe) - shredded marinated beef, shredded chicken and spinach and coriander with a white, red and green sauce. Super tasty! I had a substitute of salad for the rice - good portions abs everything was piping hot and super tasty.
Hubby had chicken breast soft shell tacos in hard shell tacos with rice - all the ingredients were plentiful, super fresh and delicious.
Prices were also very reasonable.
The new look is more rustic/Tex Mex and the menu is pretty detailed and extensive along with the great variety of tequila and mescal. All in all, what an improvement on something that was already close to perfect. Weekly specials every day - great for groups or a date. Will definitely be back!
The Laval location is great. Decent food, decent drink menu.
A must try. Mexican food that is actually good. I recommend the El Sexo tacos. They are with pulled pork. Totally delicious.

For what it’s worth, the first few bites of burger weren’t that bad. The combination of Mexican staples with bacon made for something good. The two burger halves made it easier to eat the sandwiches. One of my main concerns was the sheer bulk of food given away on the plates. I never managed to finish the fries.
The next aspect of the burger was the eating experience. I never, in my life, experienced a burger this hot and spicy. There were moments where I was so overwhelmed by the spice where I didn’t think I could continue. One of the points of pride of this search is the fact that I finished every burger placed in front of me, over 282 of them. So, just like the Canadiens on the big screen, I dug deep and worked hard to finish this powerhouse.
What I’ll say is that the burger is for the spice enthusiasts. The one drawback is the amount of food. If the portion was smaller, I could see this being an interesting meal.
I'm just leaving the restaurant as I type and it was pretty satisfying! The Mexican Flag enchiladas went beyond my expectations (I'm always so used to their $1 tacos... Ahh good ol' college years!!) so I'm a pretty happy customer at the moment!
