It's one of my go to place for late eats. It's reasonable price, food is good, portions are generous, friendly service. My favourite dish here is the Alentejana Portuguese porc and clams.
Very good, fresh food at great prices. Nice little resto bar right across the street from Schwartz's smoked meat. I ate and drank very well (Grilled Chicken Salad with avocado and dried fruits along with a raspberry mojito) while watching the lineup across the street and appreciating I was here and not there.
Casual, delicious, varied. This is a fun, casual place with a rotating menu that features soups, salads, grilled meats with generous salad/fries as sides. Do not expect fancy or gourmet, but it is honest and delicious normally. Their soups are good, too. This is a laid back place to meet friends for lunch/dinner and/or beer before you do something else on or near the Main, Plateau, or Mile End.
Great food!. I've eaten here many times! The food is excellent, affordable and location is key. Right in the heart of the Plateau! It' s one of the only restaurants on the Main that serves food until 2AM every night. Try their famous Biffana (pork sandwich), the steak or the grilled fish. The Sangria is really good! I have no complaints on the customer service end, always been very friendly. La Cabane is causal dining at its best!
Casual dining at its best!. If you like to eat late in a casual ambiance, resto-bar La Cabane, on St-Laurent, has its kitchen open until 2AM, 7 days a week!
Fresh fish, grilled meats including Portuguese style chicken, steaks, burgers, amazing fries and the best grilled chicken salad in town!!
They also have a large selection of beers on tap as well as imported beers and specials on Mojitos. I love that they serve the Stella Artois as it should be: In the Stella glasses!
My favourite daily specials are the baby-back ribs, the Osso-Bucco, the lasagna, the shrimps and scallops brochette, the carne de porco a la Alentejana and the Monday - $10 steak!!
There's a nice terrace litterally ON St-Laurent street in the summer and they show all major sports events on multiple TV screens.
