I love this place so much! I just moved to Laval and my biggest loss is being far from Machiavelli. Definitely the best bring your own wine restaurant in Montreal. Amazing food, service is always impeccable, beautiful terrace and a cozy interior. I had gnocchi filled with mozzarella last time I went there and it was so good that I had chills. Thank you for existing!
I love this jewel of a restaurant. Not pretencious but with a fabulous menu and homemade flavor. Service excellent an you can BYOB. The chef Natassia personally attended us an fed us wonderfully. Highly recommended.
The first time I ate at Machiavelli was, pffff, like, hum, 6 years ago? It's an actual question, people. Ya, around 6 years. I remember, I lived in Côte-des-Neiges then, and went with my ex. Right after leaving, I discovered I had to pee and instead of walking the 5 steps back to the restaurant, I walked two blocks away and peed on the church's lawn. I know, GREAT story. Best story EVA. Fun fact: when I went there from Côte-des-Neiges, I had ABSOLUTELY no idea where the F I was. It was like I had been dropped by helicopter (what? I'm fancy!) right in the middle of butt f*ck nowhere. And now, I live a block away. Ah, how life is funny sometimes. Ha. Laugh. Laugh NOW.
Great little place! Excellent service and the food was delicious. The dishes were beautiful (those teacups!) and the blankets were a nice touch. I'm already planning to come back in nicer weather to try out the terrace. Cottage living in Pointe-Saint-Charles!
My partner and I ended up in Montreal to follow through on a Joe Beef reservation I made months ago. The first night, we found this restaurant near our AirBNB. I wasn't expecting much as it was kind of late but I was fairly impressed with this place. The decorations are charming and warm and the service was IMPRESSIVE. Our waiter was attentive and informative and never felt invasive. We ordered the risotto, gnocchi and escargots and received two amuse-bouches in-between courses. I found my gnocchi to be pretty standard fare, but my boyfriend's risotto was creamy and delicious. The escargots were my first and I LOVED them. Overall, I left with a great impression and a warm glow in my belly and heart. Definite recommend!
Good quality, very nice terrace
Although this was supposed to be an Italian French fusion restaurant, it felt more French to me. I had the escargot, fish and crème brule, neither of which felt Italian, however all were cooked to perfection. The price was very reasonable. The terrace was the best part of this restaurant as it really felt private and intimate. Service was also good and they even added mini cupcakes on the house in light of my friend’s birthday. All in all nice little place to have quality food.
The food and the chef are awesome!!! Hard to beat that BYOB restaurant!
Excellente nourriture dans une très belle ambiance!
Cute little gem!. Very cute place not far from the Lachine Canal. We were 9 people and had a great time. The service was excellent. The outside terrasse was rustic, with plants and flowers growing everywhere. The food was incredible too. You can tell it was fresh. They have their own spin on things- (salad infused with vanilla as a quick example- very cool!). The table was silent while everyone was eating. Which is rare for us!! I will definitely be back...
Absolutely wonderful. Beautiful, affordable, stellar three-course brunch. I was particularly enamoured by the treatment of my gluten-intolerance. Naturally, I assumed I'd have to forego the dessert portion, but the server surprised me with an amazing gluten-free french toast with a coffee creme. I just can't say enough good things.
Fancy food, but zero pretention. Restaurant Machiavelli is a true gem in Montreal.
Once you walk in, you are greeted warmly by the staff and owner, Raymon. There 3 dining spaces: all are tastefully adorned with vintage frames, vases, and with art by local artists.
The food IS fancy and avant-garde, without the pretentious atmosphere of most high class restaurants in Montreal. The place is cozy, yet not crammed like other places that just try to fill the place indiscriminately. The Table D'Hote is a bargain too: for $35, we started with a cream of tomato and dill soup, followed by a brandy gelato, and a giant prime rib with a blue cheese and fig reduction. I'm not a fan of blue cheese, so I was very pleased that executive chef Natassia Marier graciously substituted the blue cheese reduction with cinammon reduction. The meat was fresh and succulent, and just fell off the bone. We ended the night with a decadent honey-lavender crème brulé. I'll definitely be back, what with that impressive menu.
Simple, cozy place. Limited space, about 12 tables and that's it.
Very friendly staff, very good food and reasonable prices.
The "Côte de boeuf" is quite good.
Bring your own wine, there is a SAQ just across.
The restaurant is across from the Charlevoix metro station.
Nothing fancy, but a good night out.
At 125 $ for 3, including tip, it's worth trying.
Bon appétit !
