Great! Had fried chicken (so crispy yum), gyoza (liked the ginger seasoning), steam egg (like a flanc) and the tenderous ribs ramen (so tender). Everything was good. The steam egg is like a soup with the chinese tofu desert texture, there is no actually a hard egg and there was some seafood. It compensated well for the others meaty plates we were having. The gyoza is generously filled with awesome seasoning with light sauce and was so perfectly pan fried that it crunches in your mouth. The fried chicken is so crispy and tasty it was finished in a matter of seconds. Best part was the ramen, although I am not yet good at differentiating the broth, I can say the broth is good since I'm an avid phở consumer. Frank, one of the owners, suggested the ramen with tender ribs pork. It just melts in your mouth. I so enjoyed it! Service is really nice and polite. A bit hidden but place worth to go. Zoe Saldana and Bradley Cooper have been there, twice!
good atmosphere, great service and amazing food if you aren't crazy about the smell of fish when you order ramen ask them to not add the nori or seaweed to it. They were very accommodating to our party. I had a really great birthday party there.
This is a charming restaurant on the second floor. On a chilly night, it was lovely to find Hakata, as it was cozy & the ramen was delicious. I had the Japanese curry chicken ramen the broth was delicious & the noodles had a nice spring to them. Great way to warm up. The service was polite & welcoming.
One of the best ramen places in Montreal. Wow that had veggie options in ramen and the crispy chicken ramen was just amazing. We started with creme bulee because we din wanted to miss it as we are usually full after mains. The dessert was good and the ramen was just mouth watering. The ambience and the service was good too.

Decent Ramen in Downtown. Had the beef short rib ramen and wife had the pork ramen. Broth was pretty good, very flavorful. Noodles were ok, they looked more like curvy ones that you find in a ramen bag than the straight ones I got in Japan - not sure they were hand made but were still pretty firm and chewy. The meat was pretty fatty and tender, however I found it rather bland.
We also had Saba fish and shrimp tempura for appetizer, which were both well executed.
Service was ok, they sat us right next to the only other busy table in the restaurant, which made it a bit ackward. Then they sat the next group right on our other side.... the rest of the restaurant was empty. weird.
Cheap lunch menu & good food!. I wasn't sure what my first visit to Hakata Ramen would be like since the reviews are so split but I quite liked it! The lunch menu had some good choices on it and it was pretty inexpensive (3 course lunch for around $12). I had tempura, Inari, salad and teriyaki chicken ramen. I liked everything - except I should have gone with my initial choice of the Hakata Crispy Chicken hot bowl. It looked great (kinda like Korean bibimbap)! The teriyaki chicken was fatty, gristly and I found a few really sharp bones that I'm thankful were in my bowl and not my 3 year old's bowl. Other than the chicken, the ramen was exactly what I was hoping for. I ended up eating around the chicken and being satisfied with my meal. This is my new favorite lunch spot!

Tentative "Like It". I'll give this restaurant a tentative "Like It". It's middle of the road - not the best or worst ramen I've had. There are a few different types of ramen, but really they are all the same soups and noodles with different toppings on the side like fried pork chop, pork ribs, crispy chicken, shrimp or vegetable tempura, etc. I prefer to have different types of soups and the toppings as part of the ramen. The ramen soup was basically a miso soup. If you want it spicy, you make it spicy yourself at the table with a chili garlic sauce. The pork spring rolls were thin (not much filling) and average. Service was lackluster. The search continues for a great ramen place in Montreal...
Will Definitely Come Back. Not the greatest in terms of service (there were only two waitresses and it was very busy, and one was very rude/not friendly), but I will come back for the ramen.
I enjoyed the ramen that I got, but their drinks were pretty weak.
We wanted to have dessert but could not get the attention of any of the waitresses, so we just paid for our food and went looking for dessert elsewhere.
Love this place, service is fast and friendly, a must try is the crispy chicken ramen and start with the dumplings... Yum
Looooved it. My friend just took me here today for lunch, the outside was totally unassuming but the restaurant itself is really nice, clean and classy. The fish cake ramen I ordered was delicious with generous portions. The service was fast and very friendly too. Cheap, cheap, cheap prices! Definitely going back soon with more friends!
