For Indian fusion, tapas, and a killer cocktail menu, I highly recommend @rasoimontreal. From their curry chicken jalfrezzi to their traditional naan breads, marinated chili peppers, Rasoï made for a spicy date night 🌶
4/5 !!
I went on a Thursday evening with one of my friends, and it was our first time. The décor is gorgeous, nice ambiance, and elegant menu. The service is quick, prices are reasonable, and dishes are extremely tasty, and authentic. I highly recommend their Fig Paneer Pizza and Chicken Biryani. Overall, I would definitely recommend Rasoi. Can't wait to come back! ;)
Always with the aim of assessing a restaurant against what else is out there in its own space, we deem Rasoï a standout because it did to Indian cuisine what its Saint-Henri cohort, Cho, did to Asian. Both made their respective ethnicities' food fun, contemporary and creative. And while we thought a couple dishes fell flat, we still enjoyed the overall proposition, from the attractive décor to the tasty food.
Rasoi is a fusion Indian restaurant in St-Henri. It isn’t particularly fancy or overpriced but because most Indian restaurants in Montreal are of the hole-in-the-wall variety, Rasoi definitely stands out. We had been to Rasoi in 2014 and had enjoyed a dinner that was as expected. We weren’t in a rush to return but recently we were invited to try some new dishes, and we were intrigued to see what had changed.
Loved it!! The service, ambiance and food was bang on! Exactly what we were looking for on a cold snowy night.... The curry of the night, a piping hot bowl of Thai inspired noodle soup was absolutely incredible along with the Indian inspired dishes we ordered as our main. The chicken jalfrezi and kale paneer were bursting with flavour and served piping hot. It's apparent that there's a lot of passion in this place. The service was genuine and personable and the ambiance was lovely. Perfect for date night or a fun night with friends. Great job! ♥
Really fun places to go with a group of friends for some creative cocktails and amusing Indian "tapas". Add to that a modern interior which is guaranteed to appeal to the new Saint-Henri yuppie class.
Solid spot, solid food, solid owners.
Very original in their cuisine and the design of the store. Also very creative with ladies night options and hip hop music. Probably the only Indian resto that's date friendly
Wonderful experience. Great ladies night specials (onion bhajis and spring rolls for $5 each appetizer) and yummy margharitas! The decor and ambiance were fantastic and the food mmm delicious shrimp & fennel salad and chicken tikka masala. Do yourselves a favor and go!
What a fabulous looking place. I was blown away the moment I walked in. The design of the place is impeccable, colours are so vibrant and every piece of decor is a perfect match for the place.
After walking in, I had high expectations for the food right off the bat. I had heard a lot about their goat curry poutine and it was the first thing I ordered. I appreciate originality in poutines and I have to say, this was quite original and tasty. Next, I tried the chicken jalfrezzi, lamb chop korma, naan and the biryani. The lamb chops were cooked to my liking and the entire dish was excellent. The chicken jalfrezzi was little bit spicy but definitely not a deal breaker. We were so full that we did not have room to finish the biryani, which was equally as good.
I know that some people complain about the prices. But I think that for a place of this caliber, the pricing is justified. I have eaten at some Indian restaurants that are towards the high end of the spectrum and Rasoi is definitely value for money. Can't wait to go back so I can try those delightful looking fig naan-pizzas and the tuna-mango salad! Great concept!
