A pleasant surprise!
Walked around downtown Montreal looking for lunch, came across this place and two next door. Picked this one on a lark and am very glad I did! The Caprese Salad and Salmon Tartare were both incredibly delicious and fresh, coffee was strong, wait staff was nice and accommodating even though my French is non existent. I am hoping to visit one more time before I leave the city again.
No reservation but was able to sit at the bar.
Went to Albert Bistro on a Wednesday afternoon with my office colleagues. We already had reservations made the previous day.
This is a cozy bistro with great ambience, good service and delicious food. My order comprised of:
Entrée - Ginger and lime salmon tartare (Délicieux!)
Main - Cajun Salmon Pavers with seasonal vegetables and creamy white wine sauce (Salmon was ok but the sauce was brilliant)
Drinks - Sicilian Lemonade (definitely good)
Great place to find classic bistro dishes. Cosy atmosphere where it feels good. Service is efficient and attentive to details. A beautiful wine list to follow house cocktails.
On Wednesday evening I went to Albert Bistro on Beaver Hall. I was looking for a lighter dinner, so I started with the Green Salad, which included nice mix of lettuce, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers and radishes, with a light oil and vinegar dressing.
For my main dish I stayed with the salad theme, choosing the Endive and Fennel Salad, with Nordic Shrimp, which also had a light balsamic dressing.
Albert Bistro might be a bit pricey for some. Total bill for one, including one adult beverage, tax and tip was almost $48. However, the food was fresh and tasty, and the service was very good.
Refreshing bistro/winebar downtown. Vintage industrial decor. Small busy place. Friendly service. Simple food. Great for an informal business lunch or drinks with your collegues after work.
Amazing restaurant. Good was delicious. Staff were great, especially at such a busy lunch hour. Loved it.
Had the trout and would definitely recommend it to anyone else for lunch. The lobster mashed potatoes were brilliant.
