The pizza was huge and delicious!!! So fresh! But for me, I was surprised at how good the appetizers were. Meatballs were so good I filled up on them. Octopus salad, calamari, arrancini... Everything was just wow. The dessert was amazing! Frozen custard with all the toppings you want on the side... Looked and tasted like ice cream, but so much better. The fried pizza dough with Nutella is the best though. Make sure your got room!!!
Having been to Italy half a dozen times (and counting), I can honestly say that the pizza I had here today was BUONISSIMA (absolutely delicious)!! The service was very friendly and on point--I definitely intend on coming back. Oh, and the cheesecake too was nothing short of sublime. Bravo ragazzi e ragazze!!!
We went to pizzeria Gema, as we read online it is the best pizza in Montreal. So we went with high expectations, unfortunately it did not meet our expectation. Don't get me wrong very good pizza but is it the best, that is a hard NO.
It has many selections of pizza from white sauce pizza to tomato sauce. Great selection of desserts, small but cozy ambiance. What really bothered me though was the noise. A lot of people talking and this very loud music, this made me not hear our face to face conversation and had to keep speaking loud.
Not a bad experience but not the best either.
Not the best pizza in town, but still very delicious and worth a try

Love the ambiance and the friendliness of the staff. We ordered two pizza's and a bottle of wine, everything was delicious and food came out fairly quickly. Highly recommended if you're eating in little Italy.
We’ve been to Gema several times and always had a great experience. Many unique pizza flavors (get the Affumicata), tasty, well-fermented dough, and a large selection of natural wines. They also have soft serve made in house!
We are from Toronto and paid this spot a visit with my wife and two children. From the greeting to the ending the customer service was superb! The food was amazing and some of the best pizza in Montreal. Never tried frozen custard but it was so good! I went on Saturday October 23rd in the evening and the manager on duty was phenomenal. He really deserves a raise as he treats all the customers with impeccable kindness along with the staff. Defintiely will stop by again when in Montreal.
One of the best pizzas in the city. Even on a Wednesday night, it was very busy and it was easy to see why.
We started off with the calamars frits (calamari), pallote marcovecchio (meat balls), and salade de pieuvre (fennel, potato, and octopus salad).
They were all really good. When you get the calamari, ask for spicy honey to go with it because it adds a bit of sweetness and a kick of spice, along with the brightness of lemon. However, if I had to pick one, I would suggest the octopus salad because it was so tender and soft and the charred flavour of the octopus went great with the light taste of the fennel and the potatoes.
For the main dish, we only shared one Capricciosa but I think that we made the right choice because it was fantastic! I personally really liked the dough - it was able to hold its structure without softening too much even with the tomato sauce on top. The marinated artichoke went perfectly with the mushrooms and ham and we couldn’t get enough. I think capricciosa is a must if you visit here.
For the desserts, we went with the cheesecake and the vanilla frozen custard. I enjoyed the frozen custard more than the cheesecake but the desserts weren’t a home run compared to the appetizers and the main course; but that’s maybe because we were both so full.
Aside from the desserts, the meal was fantastic and I would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys fantastic atmosphere and greatly executed Italian food!
Amazing its been months were waiting to try the pizza and custard and we were not disappointed. Super fresh quality A1 👌
Oh my good! I had the best time here and the food was fantastic. We tried a bit of everything and I have to say the appetizers were out of this world. There is this pizza with pistachio (I forget the name) that the waitress recommended that you MUST have. The wine recommendations were in point and the staff just super lovely.
