I am not a vegetarian and had a great experience at Crudessence. The staff was really nice and welcoming. I had the trio express and was full at half of my main course, which I did not expect! The Dahl soup and 7th samouraï were very tasty and combining original tastes. The price for this quality and portions was fair. I can't wait to bring friends here for a healthy meal!
My wife and two friends decided to drive from Washington, DC to Montreal (only 9 hour drive!) for a little summer vacation. We had made no real plans in Montreal except to wander the city and experience the best it had to offer.
On Day 1, we walked up Mount Royal (great view of the city) a little passed lunchtime so we were quite hungry by the time we came down from Mount Royal. Since we were near Little Lisbon, a Portugese place sounded great until we walked by this place. The little shop is very inviting with a small room off to the side with the wall open to experience the summer breeze. We changed our plans and ate here.
We all loved it! I do not usually eat "living food" (what the heck does that even mean), but this place was amazing. My wife and friend got the pesto lasagna and loved it (it comes with the best ceasar salad you'll ever eat). I ordered the FujiYumu sandwich with a salad. The salad was so fresh and had the best dressing I've ever had. The sandwich was great too!
My other friend ordered the dessert plate and said it was "just fine" (vegan desserts are yet to find their place in the dessert word, but the chai icecream was great!).
Definitely go here! The water is even cool (they put clorafil in it and it turns green).
Crudessence (all of their locations) is by far the BEST vegan food in Montreal! They are the only place that serve fully raw (with only additional cooked ingredients), which totally makes my raw vegan heart sing with joy! Their burgers with sprouted bread are AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS (just like all of their food) ! My taste buds smile with so many abundant flavours. I try to go here as much as I possibly can! :)
Every bite was delicious, fresh, made-from-scratch, satisfying, gourmet vegetarian. This is a raw, whole food, natural and organic, plant-based, vegan and gluten-free restaurant. Each table is served with a bottle of house-made spirulina water to share. We savoured the aromatic, curried coconut milk dahl; fresh made smoothies and juices; a poke bowl; salad, and a wrap. Our enthusiastic enjoyment did not go unnoticed or unappreciated. We were sent away with a complementary slice of superb, raw, berry cheesecake, which we promptly devoured between us, right there on the street corner. We felt thoroughly nourished.
5 stars for the food. The öm burger is fantastic. Would give 2 stars for the price range. A lunch with mai daughter, no deserts, just two plates and 2 healthy concoctions, about $80.
