Il faut se rendre tôt chez Meson! Quand le copain et moi sommes arrivés, 2 plats n'étaient plus disponible, dont celui que je voulais, les pancakes au dulche de leche! :( Par contre, je n'ai pas été déçue par la suite. Ils ont d'excellents jus maison (mmm, pamplemousse), mais le café est ordinaire selon le copain. Moi, j'ai pris l'assiette de pain doré avec des fraises. Je ne suis pas une fan finie de pain doré, mais puisqu'il n'y avait plus de pancakes et que j'avais envie de sucre, c'était l'autre option pour moi. Et c'était un RÉGAL! Je vous la conseille fortement! Le copain a apprécié son Club Meson et moi je lui ai volé quelques frites qui étaient délicieuses! Ne partez pas sans avoir essayé le coca, le pain au fromage avec confitures! J'ai demandé les deux, soit olives (sucrées!) et fraises. C'était vraiment bon! Bref, le Meson est une excellente place où bruncher!

I had been wanting to try this place for a long time. I had briefly met the chef Marie Fleur St-Pierre at an event organized by the Spanish consulate and had loved what she had prepared. As me and some friends were looking for a place for brunch we decided to give it a try. We were pretty fortunate to get the three last seats at the bar as the place was full. The decor is very modern and even if they don’t have a terrasse the fact that the large windows open up gives you a feel of the outside with the assistance of a little AC.

Hasselback style Chorizo, amazing mushroom omelette, dolce de leche churros exquisite! Several in our party had the special goat cheese/caviar omelette, and loved it. Lovely service.
La paella est excellente: belle portion, bons ingrédients et exécution impeccable. Service efficace et très agréable. Réservation conseillée.

Méson opened in late Spring of 2014 is a casual neighborhood Iberian style Bistro located in the heart of the Villeray district. It serves Spanish inspired dishes fused with fresh local ingredients. Owned by Victor Afonso, Sebastian Muniz, and Pedro Oliveira, and Chef Marie Fleur St Pierre of Tapéo, this restaurant is located on same street a few blocks down between Drolet and Henri Julien.They say if you find a good formula you should stick to it. But Méson is very different from its sister restaurant, as it serves very little tapas and more home comfort food. The portions are generous but not gigantesque. You can find almost anything to please any palate on the menu and if Marie Fleur St-Pierre has got her hands in it, it’s a sure guarantee that it is going to taste good.
The Divas were lucky enough to take part in the taping of one of the episodes of a new show with Chuck Hughes and Anne-Marie Withenshaw called À Couteaux Tirés . One of the chefs competing on this particular episode was Marie-Fleur St-Pierre of Tapeo , one of our favourite Montreal restaurants. After the taping of the show we were reminded how much we loved this particular Chef and we scorned ourselves for not having tried her new venture, Mesón, so we started planning our dinner.
We came for Sunday brunch and we got a table right away, which was a lovely surprise.
The waiters were very friendly and cheerful. The food was pretty good, although a bit pricey.
The cocktails are strong so they are worth their money for sure ☺️
Very accommodating staff!!! We were 30 minutes late for our reservation and they were more than happy to push it a bit further. The service was great and the Saturday brunch was even better!!! I recommend this place to anyone who wants a wholesome brunch with a good vibe in a nice environment 👌🏼
After a VERY bad experience with Tapeo years ago, we decided to finally give a chance to this restaurant by the same owners. We're glad we did, because the service was superb and the food was amazing. The Paella is the real deal and the "Pulpo a la Gallega" is highly recommended. Will go back soon to try other dishes.
We walked in for seats and were promptly seated at a table that was empty. The service was excellent. They were busy but our server was attentive on a Saturday night. The food also was AMAZING. We started with the Trout Gravlax with Caviar, a roasted Cauliflower and the paella. Our lovely server also helped guide us through the beautiful list of Spanish wines. All in all - highly recommend!
As someone who just moved here from Spain, I think the food in this place is fairly good. I had a great brunch with my friends.
Another Great Spanish Restaurant, amazing food and ambiance and wine selection, A must try.
The food was delicious. I'm completely unfamiliar with Tapas, and invited our server to make selections. Service along with the descriptions of the plates was absolutely top drawer. 100% a do again soon!
