Nice little French inspired cuisine restaurant. Delicious food and bring your wine option was perfect combination. portions were big and flavours were well balanced.
I would recommend it...
My favorite restaurant in Montreal. Excellent service, food is always amazing, best kept secret in Montreal, love it!
Adelicious meal. This remains one of my favorite French restaurants. Delicious food, good service, spare but lovely decor. I bring all my out of town guests here.
Classic French. Le Margaux is my current favorite French restaurant. You will find the essence of tradition, nothing too fancy or experimental, perfect execution and generosity on the plate.
A really good French restaurant. The service is very good and the prices are fair for the food.
We had a large group and they could accommodate easily.
A very pleasant experience, yet again, at Le Margaux. COVID-19 protocols followed according to the current public policies. Our party of three was seated at three joined tables that would normally have sat many more. The food was on point, even if the service was just a bit off kilter, no doubt due to the current health and safety restrictions. The escargots, done three ways, was as delicious as ever, as were my sweetbreads. My guests were both happy with their veal and duck dishes as well as the foie gras. An ice bucket wss provided to keep our rosé wine chilled, and fresh stemware provided when we switched to a pinot noir. Food presentation was quite inventive, and the restaurant's ambience was warm with a subdued and casual elegance. I've never had a dish here that I haven't thoroughly enjoyed. I already look forward to my next visit.
Been there with a big group, and suddenly the power went out. Despite not having electricity to run lights and their range hood, the staff continued to serve a fully reserved and candle lit restaurant. They had to adapt a the menu on the spot to cope with the situation. These guys are pros. They'll continue to prepare delicious food and keep giving the best service, even during the apocalypse.
This is an EXCELLENT choice for French food in Montreal. If you are familiar with French fare and service and you want to go to a good, traditional BYOW this is definitely it! I typically don’t enjoy the French experience but this one changed my mind. The food here is traditional but also really inspired and exciting.
The service lacks I'm sorry to say. I thought it was fine but by typical North American standards of service - it is pretty bad lol. Everything was timed and no mistakes were made but there was also no smiling, no pleasantries and no value added. It's strictly operational.
I highly recommend the foie gras to start (not cooked). It wasn't on the menu at the time but ask for it. It's the BEST foie I have ever had. The escargot cooked 3 ways is a popular dish (prepare to be amazed) and the rack of lamb which was tender and perfectly cooked. I would go back any day!
That is our favorite restaurant. We were lucky to meet the chef. He is so passionate. A real artist. Every time we go to another restaurant we feel like we cheated on Margaux. Best French Chef and great stuff.
Great meal, without any pretension. Service was very good, although the wait for the main course was a tad long. Not long enough to dock a star, though. The goat cheese with brie on yellow beets was very enjoyable, and the chorizo encrusted cod is now my favourite dish.
Nice room, but can get a bit noisy.
Would definitely repeat!
A really romantic and sweet place. Love the lighting here. Looks so warm from outside in the winter. Great food and you can bring your own wine. Desserts are awesome too. Perfect for dates or several friends getting together. Service is great too. I would totally go back.
