This place doesn't need much reviews . It's a Montreal classic . The food is good , portions are decent . Montrealers love the place. So It's always busy . So book on advance and be prepared to wait a bit if you have booked during the busy hours .

This place has a lot of history and reputation. I finally got here to try some smoked meat but at 10:45 they weren't serving lunch. I managed to get a Reuben sandwich to go instead. The fries/hash browns were mediocre (a bit hard) with little spices or seasoning. The sandwich was piled high with corned beef, Swiss, sauerkraut and that special sauce. I'd recommend eating if there instead of to go, because it gets messy! It was a filling meal for sure but I still prefer the smoked Montreal meat over corned beef. For $18 it was a little steep but worth trying.

Visiting Montreal on a quick layover and was recommended Reubens so I could visit St Catherine's St and Old Montreal. Huge plate of food came out immediately. The Montreal smoked meat was super tender and delicious. Don't know if I'm a heretic for suggesting this but damn I would love a light toast on that rye bread. Fries were super average. Great pickle. Even better cheesecake!
