When it comes to appetizers this place is probably not the best Greek place to go to. I find the calamari rubbery, The Greek fries are absolutely horrible (with tomato sauce?!), and their Pita bread for the Greek bruschetta is not very good....
HOWEVER... this place knows souvlaki and they know it well. Aside from Square Boys on Danforth and their chicken souvlaki, this place makes what very well could be the best souvlaki in Toronto. Pieces are juicy, big, tender and spiced perfectly. Tzataiki sauce here is whipped and perfect. I’m a a big fan of the meat at this place.
The service & food were excellent. We sent back a flat beer with no pushback from the waiter. They were OK with us bringing in a birthday cake. The service was brisk and attentive. good spot for a celebration.
Great place. Have been twice.
Ordered: Chicken Souvlaki with Shrimp Dinner and LG Beef Dinner. Comes with your choice of 2 sides and a Greek salad.
Food: Beef was cooked as I asked (medium rare) it's tender and soft, well seasoned. Chicken is moist on the inside, crisped on the outside. Potatoes taste fresh and not soggy, nice and soft. Rice is well seasoned. Overall, it's not heavily salty, which I absolutely hate when my souvlaki is too salty. Their feta is nice and creamy, melts in your mouth a bit. Shrimp were small, but they're battered in a crispy batter and deep fried (part of the dinner specials).
Portions: they give large portions of the potatoes and rice. The LG beef was enough to fill my medium sized stomach and share a couple of pieces with the BF.
Environment: family atmosphere, has a fireplace, very old school Greek themed place.
Service: feels very family oriented, servers were nice on both occasions, speedy to take our orders. The staff there seem to really care about the restaurant.
