Ho Garden is another affordable Hong Kong style restaurant located near 16th Ave. and Woodbine Ave. in Markham. The restaurant has been open for years and The Hubby used to be a regular when he lived at home. This was my second visit and sadly it paled in comparison to my first.
Ho Garden in essence is all very affordable food that tastes good (I mean you can get a full meal with a free drink for less than 4 dollars!). The restaurant is no frills which means that you shouldn’t expect exceptional service or fancy decorations. It’s a casual restaurant for retirees and anyone to grab a quick meal.
Stopped by this plaza to grab a bite and then get some groceries next door at T&T. Just call it the one-two punch. Don't really want to drive around in this cold temperature. It's hard to overlook a Ho Garden Restaurant right? Here they have items for $4 and up. I ordered a seafood inspired fried rice with dried garlic and a Hong Kong milk tea for $6.99. The other item we ordered was a stir fried chicken spaghetti with XO sauce also for $6.99. When the fried rice arrived, it looked plain and colorless. The taste was fine with shrimp, calamari, and fake crab meat. The appearance was not as enticing as it could have been. The stir fried spaghetti looked and tasted fine. Next time, I would order something with sauce so that it is more presentable. The table next to ours ordered their sizzling plate sirloin and it looked pretty tasty. Maybe I'll have to shell out the $12.99 next time to try it out.
