All in all a pretty decent place! Some of their notable items are the Pan-Fried Dumplings, Noodle Soup with Savoury Stewed Beef, and Shanghai-Style Noodle Soup. The stewed beef was super tender and there was just enough flavour in the soup without being too spicy. And the white broth for the Shanghai noodles was delicious! So fragrant and flavourful, packed with warm-your-soul goodness. My fam downed every last drop — mmm mmm good! The only disappointment was that they don't serve red bean egg puffs here, which is my fave Shanghai dessert and something I always order.
This place is pretty good for its dumplings. They're tight in terms of space but also pretty busy during peak hours. Been there several times and I haven't had issues at all since day one. Service is ok, don't expect top notch service!
Good Shanghaiese Restaurant. Xiaolongbao is the staple and signature dish at any self-respecting Shanghaiese restaurant, and 369 did not disappoint. The outer layer was appropriately thin and delicate, while the inside was juicy in every sense of the word. If your chopstick skills are not quite up to par, expect yourself to tear that outer delicate layer and spill the tasty dumpling juice all over your table!
The "chives in a box" dish I ordered was very freshly made, but the waiting took a little longer than I had expected even though the restaurant wasn't that busy (only around 2/3 full?). Still, the aromatic dish was well worth the wait. But be real careful here! Even though the dish may not look hot at all, you really want to let it cool down a bit before stuffing it into your salivating mouth, or risk oil burning your tongue. Don't say I didn't warn you!
Return visit. It has been a couple years since my last visit and I don't know why I waited so long. Though another difficult parking area its worth it. Price is affordable and the xiao long bao are well made. They had a strong flavour to the soupy content especially in the crab one. The jelly salad has a nice refreshing app. Seating is somewhat limited. Would return. 80%
1,2,3,4 Go For Shanghai Style Dim Sum Or Noodle Dishes. E: The name and the menu emphasize dim sum, but the restaurant offers many noodle and Taiwanese options. I am not sure how or why we ended up in this place, but the xiaolongbao that we were seeking were both found and good. Years ago I frequented a restaurant on the eastern side of this plaza for its stinky tofu and when it went out of business circa 2007 - and was replaced by a Korean BBQ establishment - I visited a neighbouring northern Chinese dumpling restaurant. That too was soon out of business.
Back to the thread, my favourite dim sum the xiaolongbao is here and done very well. I am always happy when I introduce the 'steamed soup dumpling' to another grateful person. Other than the xiaolongbao, which they call something like 'juicy pork dumpling' here, the pan fried dumplings are tasty and big, the leek dumplings are a bargain despite their doughiness given how they give you ten of them and the shanghai noodle impresses. One night following a vain search for Taiwanese food we ended up here and I enjoyed the Taiwanese noodle with the anchovies inside. It is tasty, zingy and different.

A: The tables are packed tightly and the restaurant is usually busy. I have had to wait for a table at least once, although the restaurant empties after 8:00 PM. Despite their official closing time of 11:00PM I have noticed that they turn away customers earlier than that.
The setting is not much different than other restaurants and quite average for this type of establishment.
For bonus points, sitting by the window allows one to look upon a restaurant on the other side of the plaza called Eat With Fun. The name is so good that I was concerned when it was closed and newspapers plastered on the windows, but on my last visit to 369 I was delighted that Eat With Fun has reopened without a name change. I really need to visit those guys too - just for their name - but in the meantime eating at 369 gives one the added pleasure of gazing across the sea of cars at a metaphor-free denotation-only named restaurant like Eat With Fun.

T: The only delay in eating at 369 Shanghai Dim Sum is finding parking. As with any plaza riddled with (East Asian) restaurants parking is at a premium and, worse, driving conditions are hazardous, arduous and fraught with danger (hello Jubilee Square).
Otherwise, once inside 369 and seated the food arrives quickly.

S: Ah, service at a Chinese restaurant can be hit and miss. Concepts such as check-ups and follow-ups are not part of the culture here and not expected. Not that I am a fan of formalities and platitudes, but I recount these things because most of the waitresses at 369 are either in a permanent foul mood or must have a personal dislike for me. The middle-aged lady and the youngest waitress, in particular, seem unhappy and unwilling on a permanent basis. For example, you need to be on your best behaviour and exert persistence to get your water refilled. Their efforts to counteract the good food, however, is itself counteracted and somehow neutered by one waitress, Janice. This lady is always friendly, cheerful and welcoming. Does she not know where she works and how she is supposed to act? Most recently, another waitress and the manager were also pleasant and welcoming so do not be dissuaded.
The restaurant's owner is Taiwanese, but the staff (including the chefs) are not.
Definitely recommend!. Very clean, fast service, busy place with lots of families, always a good sign. Food is fresh and good, huge portions. Try the dumplings with soup inside - awesome!
Nice little place. 369 is located in the busy plaza at Hwy 7 and Kennedy. Although the plaza is filled with eateries, I find that I like 369 because its rather 'tidy' and provides better service than the rest. My faves are the soup filled dumplings and stir friend rice cakes. I find the price quite reasonable too, in comparison to other Shanghai dim sum restaurants.
Need to know how to order. If you order right ( aside from the xiao long pao - which are superb) you'll enjoy it.
i had the beef rolls ( wrapped in some alum foil )
We visited 369 Shanghai Dim Sum for lunch two weeks ago because we were craving Xiao Long Bao, also known as soup dumplings. We wanted to try out a new restaurant to see if there were other good places to eat soup dumplings other than Ding Tai Fung. The restaurant was located within a large plaza filled with many other restaurants and stores, which made it a bit difficult to find the place.
The bottoms are nice and crispy from being fried and the inside is nice and moist from the pork meat. Very delicious.
I came here for lunch this past Saturday and was looking forward to trying their soup dumplings. We got two orders of soup dumplings, one order of pork and shrimp dumplings, Chinese broccoli, boiled noodle with spicy peanut sauce, and sizzling beef tenderloin.
The soup dumplings were small, but they tasted pretty good. We were hoping that the skin of the dumplings would be thinner and that there would be more juices inside, but unfortunately we didn’t get that. The pork and shrimp dumplings were also good and tasted great with the Chinese broccoli side we ordered. It was our first time trying the boiled noodle with spicy peanut sauce and we thought it tasted interesting, but good. The broth had a milky consistency with peanut flavour and the noodles absorbed the flavours of the broth. The beef tenderloin came out very hot and sizzling on the stone plate. This was our favourite dish because the meat was very tender and the pepper sauce on the beef added a nice spicy kick.
Overall, everything we ordered came out fresh and tasted good, and we also experienced great service from the servers. I don’t think we’ll be coming back for their soup dumplings, but definitely for their sizzling beef tenderloin!
