FOOD
Small menu, but their Ramen is very good. One of the better Ramen places in GTA.

AMBIENCE
Good but cramped. Nice decorations, design and atmosphere. However, you may end up sitting at the same table with a stranger.

SERVICE
Very Fast, as long as you order the Ramen. Other items can be slow.

My and hubby’s favorite is the Tonkotsu black. The original Tonkotsu broth has the creamy pork bone flavour. Tonkotsu black has the added roasted garlic oil. IT.IS.SO.GOOD. The Tonkotsu is topped off with 2 pieces of chashu (pork belly), a soft boiled egg, black mushroom and green onion. The broth is the best we’ve had. The noodles also have a nice bite! The chashu is tender and the egg is beautifully soft-boiled.

Pretty decent ramen place considering it's Markham. I tried the tomato broth base and I really liked it. It was a nice mixture of sweet, sour, salty, and just a touch of spicy. Unfortunately you don't get to choose the cut of pork (usually you get a choice of pork belly or pork shoulder); they only serve belly so naturally it was quite fatty. Overall tasty and affordable; I will return and recommend this location.

The thick ramen noodles did go really well with the tomato soup and were just chewy and firm enough for me. The egg was so soft and tender; I loved the soft-boiled yolk. Definitely a very well executed soft-boiled egg. The scallop was nice and big. The pork belly was very tender and not fatty at all! The shiitake mushrooms were fresh and really good.

I really enjoyed my Tomato soup base ramen!

I am glad that Sansotei opens another location up in Markham. It is just hard to get decent Ramen North of 401.

This place is always busy in the evening. I had give up having dinner here as I don't see myself waiting half a hour for a table even at 9 pm?! For me Ramen is supposed to be something fast and convenient.

Dropping by for a late lunch worked the best for me as I never waited for the table. Service always be fast and polite. My usual is always Tonkatsu with thick noodles. The broth rich and creamy, noodle with the perfect bite.

Double check opening hours as lunch only serves Ramen during weekdays and without any sides.

It's a good place to grab a quick bite of ramen, the tonkotsu is the go to, the tonkotsu black was too bitter with the garlic oil, the sides were OK, fast service.

Service
For a ramen place, their service is top notch. There is always one person who organizes the line up, she does the following: ensures that you get a ticket (with a number), writes down your party size, tries to get you indoors so you won’t freeze to death. I really want to give her a thumbs up because that’s a difficult job to do when it’s so cold outside (she was wearing a t-shirt, the restaurant needs to buy her a sweater LOL). Anyhow the wait is at least 30 minutes on a Friday night and I swear it was pretty good on the day I was there. Even when you get inside, you are served right away but you do get rushed a bit at the end when you finish your meal. My suggestions: eat SLOW lols. When that waiter/waitress (were they waiters? lols) sees your empty bowl she will be at your side within 1 minute LOL. Keep drinking that soup my friends!

Food
I found that the taste was very similar to the downtown one but something was missing. In my opinion, the broth was not hot enough and the eggs were not that runny. I remember biting into the eggs (in downtown) and I felt like it was the best thing on Earth. I could feel the yolk rushing down my throat and squeezing my eyes from the delicious experience. A little exaggeration there but lols. The ramen itself is still not bad but not the same, not the same LOL.
