Honestly this place is so tasty, since trying it, my mouth waters every time we drive by. It’s dangerous. Well prepared, quality food, satisfying portions and delicious beers. I do like a moister Black Forest cake than their version, but it’s personal taste. Can’t wait to enjoy this delicious food again on the outdoor patio on a sunny day soon!
Food is delicious! We lived in Germany quite a long time and it's amazing. Service was also wonderful although they need a bit of help on busy evenings. We were not in a rush so no impact on our visit. Vielen dank!
Incredible breakfast!! We regularly have a delicious dinner here too, but first time coming for breakfast. Delicious and unique! Best breakfast you can find locally.

What a lovely day we had celebrating our son’s 26th birthday this evening with reservations at The Old Black Forest Restaurant; and as usual, it was amazing! It was our son’s first time since he’d been away at university most times we’ve gone. He was anxious to try it out and as soon as he was home he wrote an online review. He was thoroughly impressed. The new owners, in my opinion, have even kicked it up a notch. When I asked for iced tea, the owner was quick to tell me that he’d just made a fresh brew this morning that had been steeping until now. He returned with a pitcher full of a blend of Earl Grey and a breakfast blend, strained strawberries and fresh lavender from his garden out back! And to top it off, I was given a China cup and saucer to pour it into 🥰. Noah asked what beers recommended from the drink menu and the owner/server told him it depends on your mood. I told him that our son was in a birthday mood. So, once he heard that it was his birthday, he brought out his personal favourite German beer for the occasion. My husband bought a bottle to take home. Such excellent food and excellent service. Very large portions. Amazing potato salad with a vinaigrette rather than mayo dressing. The chicken schnitzel was perfect. So tender. I think we all cleaned our plates. The hospitality was genuine and even though there was a full house when we arrived for our reservation, we never felt rushed or as though our server felt rushed. Very relaxing. Will recommend to everyone I meet. Great experience.
We made a reservation and thank goodness all the tables inside were gone. Lots of patio space. Service was good and fast. Food was very good. Comfy home cooking.
In a region that traditionally lacks variety of food options, the Old Black Forest Restaurant was an oasis of delicious German fare. We tried the jager schnitzel which was delightful and black forest cake which is not typically my first choice but was delicious here. Would recommend!
Got the black forest cake. I wasn't impressed at all. It had a very bland taste.
But then, I had it after about 2-3 hours of purchasing it. Not sure if that affected the texture. But an absolutely bland taste. Wasn't worth the money.
Had dinner with my parents and daughter to celebrate my parents 62nd anniversary. From the point of making the reservation, to the meal it was incredible. Great authentic food, reasonable prices, and great service. We will be back
