I'm glad I ate here! The food is really good and the portion sizes you get for all-you-can-eat sushi are good (meaning the sashimi/nigiri aren't the same thickness as shaved ham like in some restaurants). It was delicious and as an added bonus the presentation was lovely. I think $25 is a very fair price for what you get here. The atmosphere is clean, comfortable and modern and the service from all staff is friendly, polite and attentive. You can also order from the menu if you don't want all you can eat. I forgot to take photos but I highly recommend checking this place out! Only reason I knocked off half a star is because it would be nice to have more options for sashimi/nigiri, but I understand that may be a cost issue for the restaurant.
Sashimi quality was disappointing at this location, did not live up to the standard the Quinpool wasabi house sets. Also unlike downtown, no free rolls with takeout :/:/ bummer. Still definitely a wasabi house though, great sushi great price
Great sushi, great chefs, and great service!! Every time I come it's been a good experience. Prices are the same as most of the all you can eat sushi places around. 10% off with cash.
First timers. My husband and I decided to try this on Wednesday May 28/14 and it was an amazing experience! We had the all you can eat buffet which is made fresh as you order it. The food was amazing, we are hooked and can't wait to go again. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful and the restaurant was very clean, comfortable and inviting, great atmosphere! Plus they give a 10% discount if you are paying in cash!
My family and I go here regularly, the food is great an the staff is awesome. Their all you can eat is awesome (a bit pricey) but not too bad if you don't leave any. All in all one of our favourite sushi places we always feel welcomed and leave full :)
Decent place to go for AYCE sushi. We came here on an evening where there was a snowstorm and it started off as a very quiet location however as the evening progressed, there were many more people who came. My party members warned me that this location was quite slow with the serving of food, however this was not the case when we went.
Here are the pros and cons of the place:
Con
- location! This restaurant is located in lower sackville and is a bit of a trek for us in Halifax or Dartmouth.
- This shrimp skewers had an "interesting" sauce - that is, it tasted quite artificial.
- The gyoza tasted rather like store-bought dumplings.
- Sirloin steak was rather dry and therefore not recommended
Pro
My recommended dishes:
-mango salad -Cleanses the palate
- The seaweed salad is standard and quite good to start off the meal
- The beef and chicken skewers were tasty
- beef short ribs were also tasty.
- I'm happy to report that the tempur sweet potato that we had had been fried in fresh oil - although it was early in the evening. I would say that the batter could be lighter.
- The mango roll was rather unique as i have never had anything like that on the West Coast
- the sashimi and sushi that we had had relatively fresh fish which was excellent.
- The spicy salmon roll had a nice taste however what I did not like about it was that various parts of the salmon were used (chewing bits mixed in!)
- To finish off the meal, i'd recommend the black sesame ice cream as the green tea ice cream lacked flavor.
On the night that we went to the restaurant, the service-level was good (waitress and manager were attentive to our needs). However we did see our plate of sushi/sashimi sitting on the bar counter for about 20 minutes before it was brought to our table...the place wasn't that busy and it's not like sushi needs to rest like a roast or turkey :p
Overall it was a pleasant dining experience this time around.
Awesome. Finally good sushi in Sackville. Great atmosphere. Great staff and delicious spicy salmon rolls.
This is a sister store to Wasabi House on Quinpool Road but offers all-you-can eat sushi made fresh. The food is very good and very cheap at lunch. The service is friendly and the place is deceivingly big located in the old Pizza Delight location next to the old Swiss Chalet on Sackville Drive. You will not be disappointed in any of the food except the salad which is a small bowl of lettuce with some shredded carrots and no dressing. The fried dumplings and spring rolls more than make up for it.
Wasabi Asian Cuisine has a clean, bright dining room adorned with paper lanterns and koi fish murals. The service was friendly and prompt. The menu was somewhat limited... Gyoza (Japanese dumplings) were surprisingly deep fried rather than pan fried as per the usual expectation. The merits of this cooking method I’ll leave to personal preferences (I prefer pan fried), but the ground pork filling was tasty.
Quick and friendly service. Many gluten free options and menu.
4th time we’ve been here, the food is always delicious and fast. It was the second time we got the all you can eat Sushi. We had the food in about 6 minutes which was crazy. The place is never to busy which is nice so there isn’t usually a wait, but it is always busy enough for a good atmosphere. They seem to do a huge take out service which I am sure we will be trying some night after work. It is now our go to spot for sushi since we moved to a Lower Sackville, it is worth the visit for anyone outside of the area as well. #sushi
Absolutely delicious, nice staff, super clean and they are taking all covid measures to ensure safety. The lunch all you can eat menu is full of options and if you like macha I recommend asking them to mix macha and mango ice cream on the same scoop
The sushi was fresh and delicious. I love their sushi pizza personally. The deep fried California rolls are also great. This is only my personal taste, though - everything is very great!
Service was just as good. Our waitress kept an eye on us, filling up our water and checking if we wanted more food often, but not too often as to distract us from the meal and conversation.
