2018/08/22This evening I felt like having Italian, so I headed over to Bertoldi’s. This is a larger, full service restaurant. It wasn’t very busy when I arrived for an early dinner. I started out with the Misticanza Salad, with a bed of field greens, cherry tomatoes, oil and vinegar dressing, and shaved Parmesan cheese. A light way to begin the meal. For my main course I chose the Chicken Parmigiana, which usually comes with veggies and pasta. I asked for extra veggies instead of pasta, which was not a problem. The chicken was one whole breast, lightly breaded, then fried, topped with sauce and mozzarella, and broiled to melt the cheese. The breading sealed in the juices, keeping the chicken moist. The chicken sat atop a bed of sautéed spinach, mushrooms and peanuts, with a marinara sauce. The crunch of the peanuts gave some balance to the softness of the spinach and mushrooms. Service was pretty good, so all in all, a nice meal.
We were originally headed to another Italian restaurant in town but we thought we would try out Bertoldi's for the first time. The weather was great so we sat on the outside patio upstairs. The food was really good, we had the warm olives, octopus for starters. I had the spaghetti and meatballs and my husband had the pizza. The food was great and the atmosphere was great. We will go back again
