This place is unassuming from the exterior, but make no mistake it is the best fish and chips place in Kingston. The restaurant has a great family vibe, and it was full of regulars. With my friends we got fish and chips, scallops, shrimps and onion rings. The batter of the halibut was light and crispy, and paired with the lemon and tartar, it was perfect. The chips or fries, were a little soggy, but the onion rings were good. I would not recommend getting the scallops, they were small and had more batter than meat, but do get the shrimps because they were very tasty. Overall, it was a great experience and it is a shame that it is located so far away because it is much better than the pilot house.
Probably the best fish and chips place in Kingston. There are a bunch of places downtown that do fish and chips, but I straight up do not like their heavy batter. The batter here is light (how I like it) and has the perfect texture. I almost always get the halibut here. Even though the actual fish pieces aren't that big, that's no problem - it's fairly priced, so just order more!
Quite simply the best fish Ive had in my life. The young man is One of the fastest cooks I've seen and the food still comes out amazing! Great friendly servers too I have nothing bad to say about captain georges.
Great Food Great Service. I ordered the haddock take out special. As a big eater I ordered the 2 piece hoping it would be enough and I was stuffed! The fish was amazing, and chips were delicious.
At around $14, pretty standard for fish and chips it was well worth it!
Very solid and standard fish and chips... Fries were thick cut and tasty, and came with malt vinegar for take out which is always a plus!!
