Phenomenal sandwiches stacked with good ingredients. You'll pay 15 bucks but it won't be some weak sandwich with one piece of turkey and one tomato.
Went in to get a coffee before heading back to Vancouver but by looking at the pastry couldn't resist, so convinced my wife to try them. Got strawberry tart, cannoli and chocolate mousse bomb. Tarts aren't among my favorite pastries but since was my wife's choice, tried it. It was delicious, not too sweet with hardy crust. Cannoli was delicious as with hard crunchy shell. And the best was chocolate mousse bomb, it was exactly what I expected of it, mouth watering chocolate with smooth melt in your mouth inside. My only beef would be the hot chocolate which I asked if they do have dark one (with no cream) which the girl told me they do but it lacked the bitter taste of dark one (didn't bring it up since the pastries were so good).
I recently visited The Bread Co. in downtown Bernard, Kelowna B.C. and was immediately impressed by the inviting aroma of fresh bread upon entering the establishment. The interior design features beautifully handcrafted chalkboard menus, dark woodgrain flooring, and white tile contrasted by a raised grey ceiling with exposed ventilation, and an attractive wall adorned with wood panels and a grass sign that reads "eat" in elegant script. The black and white pictures of the original owners and their migration story from Holland to Kelowna add a charming personal touch to the decor.
I couldn't resist trying some of the bread and breakfast dishes offered. The Bread Co. has been in the family for three generations, and some of their recipes have been passed down from relatives in Holland, which made me excited to taste their offerings. While the coffee was familiar and sourced from a local company named Cherry Hill, I was impressed by the variety of dishes available.
After contemplating between the huevos rancheros and their famous eggs Benedict, I decided to try their new breakfast item, the Eggs Florentine croissantwich. The dish featured two beautifully poached eggs, spinach, and hollandaise sauce on a butter croissant. Upon taking my first bite, I was immediately impressed by the texture and flavor of the butter croissant, showcasing their expertise in bread making. The hollandaise sauce was perfectly buttery, while the spinach and poached eggs added a refreshing and lightly seasoned flavor. This dish was filling without being overwhelming, making it a perfect breakfast option that leaves you feeling fulfilled.
Overall, I highly recommend The Bread Co. for anyone visiting Kelowna B.C. Its unique and personalized decor, combined with their exceptional bread and breakfast dishes, make it a gem in the downtown core that's worth visiting.
