Amazing veggie congee and glass noodles. Truly authentic.
In terms of taste and variety of food, this place is handsdown the best Chinese restaurant in town. Everything tastes very authentic and menu includes all the traditional dishes AND some local Chinese dishes I never expected to find in Canada!
However, when it comes to pricing and service, there's much room for improvements
The restaurant is small and just a little too tiny. It's a refurbished family home, so that makes sense. The food is decent, about as good as you would expect home-cooked Chinese food to taste. However, this is not where you want to go for quick service. The food is made for you by one person, so it takes quite a bit of time. The English on the menu is also a little shoddy, but you can get by with it if needed. They don't supply real utensils (they have tiny plastic spoons and wooden break-apart chopsticks), but drinks are self-serve (there's an open fridge) and water is free to grab as you please. The restaurant is usually filled with Chinese students from Columbia, so it's usually rowdy. The food portions are pretty decent and you can definitely get full, but it's a tad more than I would be willing to pay.
