Planted is a special place to visit. The physical space itself is bright and welcoming. It echoes the essence of a plant based lifestyle with its eclectic mix of locally made furniture, repurposed wood, stone floors and high industrial ceilings. Nothing about the decor is typical. The space is brought to life with plants and local artists showcasing their work on the walls. You'll find a warm team of staff here, from the back to the front of house. Their love for plant based shines through as they help you to choose what dish to try from the board behind the cash. Then the food. It truly is the best vegan GF in the city. The dishes are creative, fresh and wholesome. The breakfast bowl is my favourite weekend treat, the lentil sausage is unreal and the tofu scramble has shifted my seven year old to love tofu! I also love the Mediterranean bowl, the falafel, the chickpea wings and every single one of the in house made desserts. I have shared this spot with many friends, many from out of town where vegan GF isn't as available. There is so much comfort in knowing that if you have specific dietary needs, you can securely eat everything from the menu without concern for dairy, gluten or animal product. You guys are killing it, I love this entire team! There is so much heart in this space. Get there. Now.
I went to Planted in Hamilton opening night. The menu offers a wide variety of mouth-watering food. I LOVED the BBQ Jackfruit! Their desserts are amazing. It is such a friendly atmosphere. Please keep doing what you're doing! I highly recommend going to Planted in Hamilton. Absolutely the best gluten free and vegan restaurant in Hamilton. I honestly can’t wait to go back!
Coming in with severe dietary restrictions, we hoped they would be a safe choice with options and they definitely delivered. Our server was incredible, and took the time to sit down with us to explain our options and to check when they were unsure. The food came quickly, was hot and delicious. We aren't vegan but we're open to new culinary experiences and if you're in the area they are ABSOLUTELY worth checking out. The only critique I can really offer is that the building is less accessible than it could be, but that's not a limitation that they as a business can impact; that's on their landlord. They do compensate with outdoor tables at road level and they deliver and do take out.
Their ordering system is really neat, allowing us to order online from our table or at the counter. It was a fun experience and we would definitely come back next time we're in Hamilton.
When you're in the mood for delicious healthy food, you're not going to find a better spot in Hamilton. Always a crowd pleaser. Food is out of this world fresh and delicious. And staff is super friendly! Inside is beautiful and they have a great little patio in the parking lot.
Amazing food and service!! The pesto pasta was incredible and seriously, I haven't had a cruller donut in like 10 years. It was perfection!

Great spot! As a vegan, I really enjoyed this spot and loved that you can just order from your phone without having to wait for a server or look at physical menus. I like physical menus too, but this was efficient! We ordered 30 minutes before closing, but they were very nice and said the kitchen is open up until closing and we can stay back until 930 (30 minutes after closing) if we need to. We didn't need to do that, but it was nice to have some independence in the restaurant and access to take out boxes nearby if we wanted to head out. They also had great food options! Not my favorite vegan cheese recipe, but I loved the thai bowl and the nachos were great! Went with my non vegan brother and his vegetarian girl friend who both also enjoyed the experience. :)
Had a Classic Planted Burger and Poutine.
The patty was really crunchy and well cooked.
It was an awesome experience. Vegan/Vegetarian must visit this place once.🍔
This is the best vegetarian place we know of in Hamilton.
We had visited the previous location on John St. This one is much more appealing in its vibe and decor, open and spacious and welcoming.
The staff is very friendly and the food is amazing.
On this visit I had the falafel bowl and my wife the Thai bowl. Both were generous, attractively prepared, and wonderfully tasty, with loving attention to textures, flavours, sauces and spices. Everything was perfectly done. Price are reasonable too. Both of us managed with great effort to resist the desserts, though they looked scrumptious. The only slight negative: trying to find parking on too-trendy Locke Street.
Love the new location on Locke street! The food is great! The nachos were delicious! The Thai bowls were great and our friends enjoyed the falafel. We ate outside because we had a dog and service was good! Will return again!
