Best fish n' chips in Hamilton. The fish batter is excellent. Thin but not too thin, flakey, and just the right amount of crunch. Big piece of fish that melts in your mouth. Fries are hand-cut and cooked perfectly. Tartar isn't homemade but sometimes that's a good thing depending on the recipe.
Wife & I popped in here late, about 6:15 PM, asked if it was too late to dine in. Young gentleman said it was OK, we’ve been before and the food was always good. Unfortunately on this day, they we’re out of Halibut fish, so we ordered the Haddock Fish & chips, with an extra piece of haddock. Asked for an extra plate (so wife and I could split it) not for financial reasons, simply can’t eat what we used to eat. It arrived promptly, fries were steaming hot, cooked fresh golden brown. Came with 2 large pieces of Haddock with a non-greasy batter (very light) almost like a “cornflake” like batter, not that thick, just right. Condiments brought to table on request (COVID) protocols still in effect as of May 12/2022. Pleasant service by Issac server that day, all around good excellent! Still say Harry’s Fish & Chips are the best in the Hammer! We will definitely be back!
We tried Harry's for the 1st time and were very happy. Going in at 6:30pm on a Saturday I expected a line up and decent wait after walking in but I was pleasantly surprised there was only 1 lady ahead of me. The cashier girl who took my order was nice and pleasant. My order was ready in 5 mins and the halibut and chips were delicious with an average size serving but a little pricey. We will definitely return.
