The food is very flavorful and the portion sizes are quite large. My group ordered poutine, the curry burger and the Thai bowl. Everything was fantastic! Only thing we’d change is that they add more “cheese” to the poutine as they only added a couple chunks.
We visited this restaurant today and left pleased and full.we started by eating on the patio (which is lovely by the way) and had to move inside when it got chilly out..waitress Lauren happily moved our stuff inside and chatted with us about the interior decor which happens to be seating from in the church..how cool!she was funny and helpful and I wouldn’t hesitate to say that the owners are lucky to have an employee whose naturally so great at her job..(no hovering and interrupting a million times or talking in an annoying cutesy voice for tips like some gals do,lol)now let’s get to the food!the tofu pizza was crispy and flavourful and the kale bowl was delicious like always. The salad was fresh and potato chunks were good too and not overly salty..the curry burger left quite a bit to be desired and the bun was dry but that’s minor and not worth taking a star away for.i would definitely say this is a great vegan choice for dinner or lunch in Halifax!
We stopped in here twice on our journey from Ontario to Nova Scotia - both times were incredible! On our first stop we enjoyed the portabello sandy (delish pesto), and the classic 'za (nice toppings, crust wasn't our absolute fave though) and some deadly good cookies and lattes (we have started making cinnamon cookies at home now, but as soon as we get out east again we know who to hit up!). On the second trip we tried the curry burger and cajun tofu - both good meals that hit the spot. We also had our first ever oatcake and while it was too maple-y for moi, my partner enjoyed it with tea! With a beautiful aesthetic, loads of voluptuous plants and jar after jar of homemade treats, Heartwood is definitely a must try!
Some of our group were vegetarian, some not but we all loved the food! Waitress was friendly and the red wine choice was surprisingly good for the $8 price.
Had the heartwood bowl with spicy peanut sauce over brown rice. SO good and filling. Definitely worth visiting. Super friendly also!
Great food, service and very knowledgeable.
Service was amazing and the spot was cozy and adorable! Such great vibes and amazing smiles all around. Plus the food was DELICIOUS!
Excellent food, lots of vegan options that aren't too pretentious. Service is typically very receptive and timely.
One of the best restaurant in Halifax for veggie and vegan people. I tried vegan cake , it was really delicious.
My go to restaurant! Spicy peanut Heartwood bowl & poutine are our favourite at the moment. Don’t forget a cookie too!
