I moved to Halifax from Ontario back in November and I had no idea a coffee shop could be such a comfort in a new city. The staff and owner are so very warm and welcoming and to top it all off the coffee is to die for. Very thankful that a friend showed me Narrow Espresso, and that I live so close to this little gem of a coffee shop. If I could rate it 6 stars I would
A hidden gem! It would be easy to pass by and totally miss this little place, but that would be a sin because then you'd miss some truly awesome coffee. Like a good espresso, this shop is tiny but mighty!
Such a quirky, beautiful little place!! I had a pumpkin spice soy latte, which was good. I was a little taken aback by the teabag in the coffee itself as I’m accustomed to pumpkin spice syrups, but it added a hint of ✨cozy rustic✨ (I liked it!!). Also this place provides syrups for you to sweeten your drinks with at no additional cost! Also not accustomed to this and I think it shows a care for individual customization.
This place is narrow!! Like really narrow. Like vertical storage narrow. This narrowness somehow made me feel really safe and cocoon-y. I would honestly LIVE here if I could (little hammock hanging from the ceiling).
One thing: there were lots of wasps here when I went (early October).
Love coming here for the peace and quiet I crave with the added bonus of a lovely cappuccino and my English Muffin for breakfast (with salmon, egg, cheese and avocado) 🥰
I love their coffee, it's delicious! I only get to have it a couple times a week so it's a nice treat because they have complimentary vanilla syrup🥰 The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is because I wish they had more vegan snack options. Respectfully
My favourite coffee in the city hands down. HOWEVER: have heard rumblings that the owner isn’t great to his staff. Cashiers seem to be in constant rotation. They also frequently display copies of a “Police Vision” magazine… Meaning they either have a subscription or are going out of their way to buy copies on their own. This is really not what I like to see given the questionable behaviour displayed by local and global police in recent years (racial profiling, destruction of the shelters of houseless people, etc etc). Service is quick, drinks are to die for and all the baked goods I’ve tried have been tasty. In this warmer months I enjoy sitting outside but this isn’t a place I would ever come to to study as there are only two very small tables inside, fair warning they have a wasp problem in the summers. I still come here though because I’m in and out so quickly the wasps are not a concern for me.
Fantastic little coffee shop constructed in an old lane way. Staff are really friendly, coffee and baked goods are delicious. Great atmosphere, great service, great coffee.
REALLY good decaf americanos! If you drink decaf you know how many coffee shops just can't do it right.
Baristas are friendly and bring your drink around the counter to you. It's definitely a to-go coffee place and they're pretty quick.
Always, always, always a great cup of coffee. They use the North Mountain brew of coffee. I get a dark roast, but usually it’s the ginger latte that is my go to. Pair it with a cinnamon bun and you have the perfect start to the day. The owner and his staff are the best - always friendly, great service. Best coffee place in Halifax hands down.
Such a lovely, iconic cafe in Halifax. You must visit whether you are in town for a day or a decade. Love the sandwiches and the coffee!
My favourite coffee shop on the peninsula. Fast, affordable, kind, and reliable. Everything they have is excellent. Worth the trip, even from far away!
Honestly short and sweet, you can’t find better coffee and better smiles than this place in Halifax ☕️ ❤️
