Review The Blue Olive Greek Taverna - Halifax

This restaurant experience provides friendly staff and a very pleasant atmosphere, however I have experienced traditional Greek cuisine, the Blue Olive Greek came close 8/10.

The food is awesome! All the dishes that we ordered were full of flavour and playful to the palate! The greek bruschetta was really good! Overall, it was a great food experience and I would love to visit again!

Truly delicious! I loved everything about this place, excellent service and divine food! The moussaka was delicate, very smooth with savory lemon potatoes & fresh salad 🥰 I also ordered family dinner from this place. We enjoyed chicken and lamb screwers with dips trio. Highly recommend this Taverna 👌

Best Greek food in Halifax! Consistently amazing food whether dining in or takeout. Restaurant is beautifully decorated with a warm cozy atmosphere. Options for vegetarians and carnivores. You won't be disappointed.

The atmosphere here is great, feels like a family run green taverna - exactly how it should feel. The owner/cook (not sure) came out to check on us multiple times and make sure we were having a good experience. The dips are delicious as is the bread. The vegetarian Moussaka was good but could have a had a little bit more flavour, that’s where the 5th star is lacking. I would definitely return to try other dishes!

Wow! Finally found a Greek restaurant I’d happily return to. Comfortable, cozy spot with excellent food choices. Pikilia Platter for 2. Nice selection for tasting. Shared the grilled lamb. Delightful cocktail selections and wine to accompany dinner.

Love the atmosphere of this place- really felt like a warm day in Greece. The server was very nice, and the food was great. I would recommend the flaming saganaki to try!

The owner was amazing. He checked on us countless times and he was extremely kind and welcoming. Very great service and food was amazing. Highly recommend this place! Thank you for the great service!

The atmosphere and service were very nice. The dips and dolmades were delicious. The salmon was well cooked but unfortunately the rice was cold. The Pasticio was lovely but the rice was also cold. Overall the atmosphere was excellent, the food was good and we enjoyed our time. One small thing would be that the washrooms could have been a bit cleaner.

Just went to Blue Olive for supper and it was fantastic! Food was amazing, atmosphere very pleasant, and the staff was very friendly! I would 100% recommend to anyone wanting a high quality meal in Halifax

Amazing place! Wonderful service and delicious food! We celebrated our paper wedding anniversary last night and the waiter and cheff made us to feel very special. The place is lovely and the food was delicious! We definitively recommend this place.

This is a lovely little restaurant, the waitress was very friendly and helpful. The salad was delicious and I loved the dressing, the chicken was juicy and well seasoned and the potatoes were perfect!

This is the best Greek food in town hands down! I have been coming here for years and it’s always been an amazing food and service here consistently.

Very good food combined with a and pleasant low key atmosphere makes conversation easy. The owners or manager was very good about responding to a small hitch during ordering.

I like chicken souvlaki more than lamb but everything was so good!! The plate was so big we couldn't get dessert but we're coming back soon for sure!! 😜 Any recommendations on desserts are highly appreciated ☺️🙌

Food flavor was excellent but a couple things. Souvlaki usually comes in a pita unless it's a Souvlaki stick. And salade needs oregano and at least 2 olives. Potatoes and lamb was delicious.

Great food and service. Enjoyed the table-side flaming cheese and calamari appetizers. Entrees of souvlaki of chicken and lamb, both juicy and spiced perfectly. Waiter and waitress friendly and helpful and restaurant stayed open for us as last customers. Highly recommend

Another wonderful meal at Blue Olive today! I love that there are so many options for vegetarians, and everything is prepared to perfection and beautifully presented. Quite possibly the best Greek restaurant we've ever enjoyed .... with the exception of the one in Greece that we visited a few years ago! :-D Love the food, love the music, love the service.... we will be back again!

I just enjoyed a wonderful meal at The Blue Olive. My bar is high when it comes to Greek Food and the Pastichio did not disappoint. It as so good I think I may have to return tomorrow before I leave Halifax.

The husband and I and our lil. Baby went ffor our first time to Blue Olive and I would have to say this is now my favorite restaurant! The staff (and even the other customers) were wonderful! It felt more like one big family and the staff took the time to actually talk and interact with us and took interest in our lil girl. The food is top notch, better then any other Greek restaurant or heck any restaurant that I've eaten in! The foods were fresh tasting and clearly didn't require or have a bunch of added stuff like salt etc. The atmosphere is romantic and relaxing and it was what we both needed after a tough week! The prices are quite reasonable and actually surprised me that for the amazing. Quality the pricing compare to that of places like Montanas and the other chair type stores but are a million times better in so many ways then all of those places! It's no wonder the restaurant was packed and had a steady flow of people they are doing everything to ensure they obtain and keep customers!! we will absolutely be back again and would highly recommend this place to anyone from those who are on intimate dates, to the families looking for a nice place to eat and to those like us younger families with a baby who really don't get a chance to get out much lol. Thank you to all the wonderful staff for making our night!!

Excellent and delicious food. Great personal service by everyone at The Blue Olive. We were not rushed to make space for other patrons, it was a great calm, friendly atmosphere, oh and did I say the food was GREAT! Good food and good people.

Tried the flatbread pizza for the first time tonight! It was incredibly flavourful, outstanding in texture and something we be will ordering again. I’m always so happy to return to the Blue Olive with family and friends- each time is consistently delicious with warm hospitality and service. Whether it’s dining as a couple or treating friends, delighting our kids with an order of flaming saganaki, or stopping after a walk in the park and eating outdoors (while dog sitting!) the ambiance is charming and the food is always presented plentiful, fresh and hot. Thank you for having delivery/takeout service too! It’s certainly saved a busy evening with something I feel very good about feeding my family.

I am barely in the car on the way home from the Blue Olive and I just had to write a review to say how delicious my meal was. Quite possibly the best thing I've put in my mouth since visiting Greece! Service was excellent :). We'll be back soon!

Love everything about this little nugget on Quinpool! Food is always superb. Staff are friendly and professional. Owner comes out to check on his patrons and is friendly and helpful if you need anything at all. This is becoming our regular spot. Love it!

Had the Souvlaki plate which was reasonably priced with a nice portion size. The salad was nice and fresh with lots of olives in it. Delivery was prompt and the food was great. I'll be back again!

We made an impromptu decision to go for dinner last night and I'm so happy we decided to come here. The rack of lamb was seasoned and cooked perfectly and the moussaka was delicious. I love this restaurant's quaint and personable atmosphere and our server was very pleasant and attentive. It was nice to be able to take our time and enjoy our food without feeling rushed. A perfect evening out. Thank you. :)

Went there for a nice 40th Anniversary dinner and were not disappointed! Absolutely delicious food and great service and a nice atmosphere. When they found out it was our Anniversary they treated us to an amazing dessert! We will be going back for sure!
