Filipino family choice. My husband is Filipino, so I have been exposed to a lot of good home cooking. Some dishes are just too much work, though, and my mother-in-law and her friends will order those from Palabok House. They have two menus -- one that is more Chinese that they give you to order from, and another Filipino one which you have to ask for. The few times hubby and I have gone out to eat here we've found it to be decent (better than the place up in Christy's Corner by North Edmonton Cinemas), but it's "not like momma makes it". However, if you don't have a Filipino mother in law to do the cooking for you (because even the "simple" dishes are a lot of work!), this is a decent subsitution.
Tried the lunch buffet. Good price at around $10. But the food wasn't Philipino at all. Westernized Chinese food. The food was good for what it was. However, the food could be served hotter.
