I just went here for the first time, and I’m already in love. It’s super cozy and cute inside, and the food is excellent. The atmosphere is really warm and inviting, and the gentleman who was serving us (I think maybe he was the owner) was so sweet! can’t wait to come back :)
Best eggs benny I’ve had, however subtle the sauce.
The mimosa was a magical experience with my own tiny bottle of champagne
My favourite & go-to place for benny 🍳 it is a little pricey but it is so worth it 🤤 everything is on a bagel 🥯 I always get the salmon 🐟 (aka lox) and pair it up with their Hawaiian coffee ☕️ 🌺 TRUST ME - you will love it ♥️
We came here because we couldn’t believe the same place could be rated 5 stars or just one star so many times by so many different people. We wanted to know which one we were. We love good food and unique experiences and we don’t mind paying for it. I rate this 5 stars and will be back again.
Breakfast at the New York Bagel Cafe. Ordered s coffee to start. Arrives hot fresh and with steamed foamed milk. Ordered the eggs Benedict on a bagel. It arrives quickly and is presented beautifully with an arrangement of fruit ( pomegranate , grapefruit, strawberry, dragon fruit, watermelon, melon, and kiwi ) and hash browns. Hollandaise has a great flavor and seems to be homemade as the menu claims.
Waitress is friendly chatty and quick to serve.
Thanks for breakfast !
I finally got to check this place out after seeing their New York Bagel Cafe's egg bennies all over social media and I can vouch that they are definitely as good as they look. My quick recap on the experience... Very cozy interior, friendly service and expensive menu.. but deliciously good. The irony.
First thing I noticed about this place when I walked in was just how adorable and cozy it is. Seriously, it has that personalized, homey interior that I love to see.
My friend and I sat outside and were served by a very prompt and patient waitress. We ordered the salmon dill soup, iced tea, and egg benedict (the mushroom one on the extras list).
The iced tea is not what you would expect, it doesn't taste like the commercial bottle type, or even the lemon one. It tastes like sweet berry juice (which I liked) but my friend thought it was too sweet.
The salmon dill soup was humongous. Which made sense I guess because it was $7 but it was so delicious.
The egg benedict though... its what has captured my heart and stomach. The mushrooms laid in sauce on top of the benedict that lay on a bagel was HEAVENLY. they also had fruits on the side that you could eat as well. I honestly loved my experience and will definitely be coming back! The only different thing I would do is perhaps order less next time because the portions are huge (which I should have also anticipated because the food is expensive)
This is a great place to get an awesome made meal, homie feel. Prices are on the higher side, but you pay for quality. Eggs Benedict are huge serving.
Small little cozy little place. The service was great, the breakfast was delicious but pricey. You get what you pay for here, everything seemed fresh. Wouldn't be able to take my gf here every Sunday though. The lady who owns the place is not friendly at all, but she does make a good breakfast.
Had brunch at NY Bagel Cafe today. Also went there once before, too. Both times, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It is a bustling brunch place, as you would expect from a place that serves tasty breakfast foods in the late morning on weekends.
Last time, I had French toast, which was excellent. This time, I had the spicy chorizo eggs benedict. I didn't think it possible, but it was even better! I also had their hot chocolate, which I would strongly recommend.
The restaurant has a warm, bustling feel, just north of the Strathcona farmers market. It is a little busy, but that just contributes to the warm feeling. The service, while rushed because of the bustle, is very friendly and prompt.
Best bennies in town, over twenty years in biz, family run. This place rocks. If breakfast is your thing New York Bagel Cafe is your best friend.
Really tasty meal and cute interior. Kind of weird service, like said we couldn't have another cup because she had to wash them herself, and charged additional money to share 2 entrees between 2 people (?). The service was actually really quick, which doesn't seem to be the norm. I'll probably be back. The eggs Benedict was just so good and I love the granny vibe of the decor.
