I had the Ox-Tail. Delicious food, excellently spiced, and service was great. On the other hand, it's difficult to justify the prices for the amount of meat provided. I would go back, but only when I NEED a Caribbean fix.
Don't listen to bad reveiws this place is always top notch and yes the jerk chicken can go fast so early is better . He makes a double batch on the weekends though .
Best Ox Tail I've Ever Had!. Oh wait... it is the only Ox Tail I have ever had. Either way I have to say I enjoyed my meal. I went in for Jerk Chicken but as I read from others they do not have everything on the menu ready all the time (weekday at 11:30am). If I waited another 20 minutes it would have been ready. I had Ox Tail instead and the flavour was delightfully mild. I could see it not being for everyone but I really liked it. The coleslaw worked with the meal but the rice and beans seemed a little too close to enhanced instant rice for my likening. Overall, a little pricy but very tasty. I will back. Unlike others, my service experience was just fine.
Its a small place kinda hidden but they have the best beef and chicken patties their jerk chicken with rice and coleslaw is to die for the chicken is tender falls right off the bone !! Will definately being dining here again !
Great food!. Don't let the small size and limited seating deceive you. This place makes excellent food! My wife and I went there for lunch today. She ordered the chicken curry while I ordered a combo plate of chicken curry and jerk chicken. The dishes were very tasty and left us salivating for more. We will be returning--with friends!
Oxtail stew in colourful surroundings. I wondered if "Safron" referred to the spice but, as it turns out, it is the first name of this delightful Caribbean outpost's owner. A colourful exterior gives way to a narrow but judiciously organized interior that sings with the aromas of different spices. I was there close to closing time and all they had left was oxtail stew. The pieces of oxtail are still on the bone - this requires some dental dexterity for nibbling, but the bones impart an impressive depth of flavour. The meat was tender, fragrant, and the rice and beans were generous and filling. I've heard so much about their jerk chicken. Next time.
Oh my...so great!. My family and i were tired of eating the typical meat and potatoes and wanted a change for dinner. went to safron's which was more than great and filling. for only 50.00 5 people ate and we jerk chicken, curry chicken and oxtail. don't let the name fool you it is better than great and my absolute favorite....a must try next to the jerk chicken. thanks for a great dinner safron : )
Great Patties. Recently back from the Cayman, and craving chicken patties. Found them here and boy where they delish. Can't wait to go back for the much-talked about jerk chicken!
My friends and I went here before a hockey game a couple of weeks ago and it was awesome. Just a small place where you order at the front and now many tables but the food was excellent. I ordered the Curried Goat and Jerk Chicken combo. The goat was great but the chicken was incredible. Not only the best Jerk Chicken I have had but some of the best chicken I have had period. Will go back next time I am in town for sure.
Great food! Go early because when they run out of food they are out since it is made in an authentic fashion!

A takeout diner style restaurant. They sell their own locally made jerk sauce and other products.
The jerk chicken meal and the stew beef meal are delicious. I usually go with oxtail sauce for my rice.
They also had DG pop. Safron the chef was on TV showing some of his meal creations. So, I decided to check It out and it did not disappoint.
The owner is such a nice guy and the food is amazing it never disappoints just wish the price was cheaper for the amount you get.

My late brother introduced me to Safron's over 19 years ago. Amazing food. I like getting the Oxtail and rice and doubles n hot sauce. Their doubles hot sauce is freshly made from scratch too.

Absolutely delicious, the food was very fresh tasted very authentic and the customer service was perfect.
Delicious food I've had the curry goat and curry chicken from there. So good and fast home cooked food. I'm eating it as I'm writing this.
