So this is a restaurant that started up in the same spot that another Korean restaurant (Korean Gardens) was open a long while back.  Regardless of how the food was back then, I have to say that the food now is pretty good, and they have a pretty extensive menu.  Korean restaurants in general seem to be springing up all over the place in Edmonton now, and this is good news because the more competition there is, the more each restaurant will need to step up its game in order to keep up.  B Bim Baap has good food at prices are that are not more expensive than much of the competition that they face, especially as they are in the south side of the city where most Korean places are located.

I will also say that I have not ever had to wait for a long time any time I've gone there, and this is likely because they are located in the the south industrial area between 91 St and Gateway Blvd.  They have items that other Korean restaurants don't such as bibimnaengmyon (spicy cold chewy noodles with vegetables, meat, and hard-boiled egg), so it's a good place to go if you want to try dishes aside from the staples like bibimbab.  Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone who has a hankering for Korean food or just good food in general for that matter.

I don't live in Edmonton and this means I cannot visit this restaurant as often as I would like. However, if I'm in Edmonton, this is always my #1 choice. I always have beef bulgogi, and it's always fabulous. It's cooked to perfection, and I enjoy every bite. I wish they will give me extra kimchi, I always feel a little awkward having to ask for a refill. I highly recommend this restaurant. The service is excellent, the prices are reasonable, and words are really inadequate to describe how much I love eating my favorite meal there.

Nestled in an industrial park by the Whitemud, B-Bim-Baab is a hidden but popular Korean eatery. We weren't expecting too many people when visiting at 3PM on a Sunday but there was a surprising amount of tables occupied. Since brunch is a thing, I guess linner (or dunch) can be one too. I've been to B-Bim-Baab once before (pre-blogging days) but

wow so I have only a couple of Korean restaurants in the city that I keep going to because of how great they are. Now, I can add B-Bim-Baap to my list.

The first time I went here was on a weekday night around 8pm, a little late for dinner, and I saw the place was half filled. This was a good sign in my opinion as this is located in an industrial area and I wouldn't have expected a lot of people during that time of the night.

We had the gamjatang and oh sam bokum. The gamjatang was really good, actually I've never had it before but I thought it tasted great. Lots of meat in the pork bones. We got the size small for $16 and it is way bigger than I expected. It's perfect to share between 2-3 people. They offer it in bigger sizes like medium and large and those are probably best to share with a big group of people.

The oh sam bokum is a spicy sizzling dish with squid and pork (from what I remember) and it tasted great. I've had buldak bokkum before and this tasted very different. It had more of a barbecue, smokey flavour as well as spicy. Great dish! Absolutely loved it.

The second time I went was for lunch and they had a bibimbap lunch special but here's the catch - you have to add the meat which costs extra haha. We also got the pork tofu stew which came with a bowl of rice. The kimchi pajeon tastes really good here! I usually don't order that because it never tasted good to me when I got it at other places, but here is really good.
They only gave 3 kinds of banchans and I love pickled radish so I asked for it and they were more than willing to give me some lol.

Service was average; I noticed that they don't really smile lol but the owner is so nice and so friendly! Overall, great place for Korean food. It's definitely worth the drive for me. Their menu is very extensive and when I went, I really wanted to try everything. I will definitely be back.

We've been enjoying going to this restaurant for a few years. It's located in an industrial area in the south side, a bit removed from the main roads. It's a decently sized place with plenty of seating, although decor is a little lacking. Large variety on the menu, although some items are a bit pricey. Food is also pretty good, with my favorites being the dolsot bibimbap and the jjangmyeon. The only downside is the service can be quite slow after they take your initial order. I find it hard to flag staff down for more water, food or for the bill.

The search for authentic Gam Ja Tang in Edmonton is over as we have found it here! Their Gam Ja Tang can definitely rival that of Owl of Minerva's in Toronto! Great food, great staff! We will keep coming back whenever we need a Korean food fix.

My boyfriend and I have been going to B-Bim-Baap for the past few years. It is probably one of our favorite Korean restaurant. The King Galbee is delicious!
B-bim-baap also serves some really delicious sushi rolls from their Japanese restaurant Kenko, that used to be open right inside b-bim-baap, but is now closed.
Though, I've notices that the servers don't seem to happy, every time we order something from the Kenko menu, even though they offer it. I would've given a 4.0 rating, but the service has gone downhill over the years. The last visit, no one bothered to come check on us, and when i need more water, I couldn't get a hold of anyone.
The food is so good here, that I'm willing to look past the horrible service.

I came here for the first time last week and loved it! The buffet was amazing, they had really great bulgogi and their fried rice was pretty good too.  It was decently priced and totally worth it. I would highly recommend this place!

This Korean restaurant was pretty decent. The crispy rice bowl, Dolsat, was disappointing (quite bland) but the Galbie ribs and Charp Chae (sp?) was quite good. It's great for a wide variety of pallets as they have a mix of vegetarian, seafood and other foods to try. The restaurant is comfortable but the service was a bit slow at times. Overall, it's worth a try though, especially for the Galbi ribs which were amazing!!!

One of the oddest places in my opinion to see a Korean restaurant, in the middle of a industrial area. At 8:30pm on a Saturday it was quiet but it was all Korean clientele. People have complained that the service has really gone down hill but I could careless, as long as the food is still tasty, that's all I care about. I've sampled their other dishes like Kimchi Fried Rice and Beef Short Ribs in the past, all delicious in their own right.

Of course the best part of Korean food is the side dishes you get for free. Kim chi, bean sprouts and seaweed, delicious! I always get their Charp Chae (glass noodles) which is one of my personal favourites. Who knew noodles like that could hold so much flavour? It's a little expensive but Seafood Pancake is another must. Packed full of seafood and onions it has a little chewiness mixed with a tad of crispness. My girlfriend got their basic B Bim Baab. With a good amount of gochujang it was tasty. It's a very far trip for me but whenever it's worth the trip especially when you have leftovers to take home.

Delicious! It's our second time here and we love the food so much. Even my picky 4 year old mentioned how delicious his shrimp tempura was. Generous portions at the right price! And the service was great as well.

We loved our time living in Korea. But the thing we missed the most was the food. It’s hard to find authentic and high quality Korean food in Edmonton at a reasonable place. I tried this restaurant for the first time today and had the dolsot bi-bin-bop and it was phenomenal. Great food, staff and prices are decent. I’ll be back.
