I went with a friend, she was running late, but my server was amazing, was super patient and still kept checking up on me, until my friend showed. The service was fantastic, the food and drinks superb and it really does make all the difference when your server genuinely cares and is on top of things. I'd recommend this place to anyone.
The place, food and our server are awesome. They packed my "leftover" neatly abd even adding dip and sauces. It's my second time and both experience was excellent.
Went here for a friend’s birthday it was a nice atmosphere. The staff were nice and attentive. The food was cooked to my liking and nice and hot no complaints here. I wish there were a bit more of a selection but that is all I could say.
I went to S&M today looking so forward to ordering the tomato bacon bisque. Imagine my utter dismay finding out they have REMOVED it from their new menu. Omg! That was the absolute best ever!! I ended up with a chicken burger which was good, but not good enough to bring me back (like the bisque always did). Bad move State and Main.
Came here for a quick bite after volleyball. It wasn't too busy, making the wait for the food seem long. But I was in and out in about an hour. Sat in the bar, so service was good. Think of this place as an "upscale" Original Joe's. The menu ans concept of two sides with mains is similar. I ordered the Pacific noodle bowl which was flavoured in Thai spices. Lots of vegetables, shrimp, and chicken to go with a good portion of rice noodles. Surprisingly good. I would come here after playing rec league sports if I needed a place to quickly eat.
Great location conveniently access just off whitemud. Downside is that no reservation if you are planning to have a group of people there. Food was alright. Environment setup is comfy
Great atmosphere and staff. My husband and I always sit up at the bar during the casual Saturday lunch hours to order our drinks and food. We are always treated with such respect and every time we get served, the server or bartender go above and beyond to make sure we have a great experience.

The service in state and main is fast the food comes in two seconds. State and main is like a castle. The menu in state and main is the size of a 7 ft. tall man, but it is easy to choose from. State and main is futuristic.
In the restaurant state and main there is a variety of city artwork on the walls. The city contains the CN tower and the dazzling Eiffel tower. The city artwork go’s on and on and on till the window. It is as pretty as the world on top of the shining sun. Hanging above the table is stained glass lights each shines a reflection of the shade on the table. Then the table is a faded color and it looks spectacular. The chairs are tall and are made of iron and leather there is lever that adjusts the seats to your comfort. State and main can blow! Your mind.
The service in a restaurant is very important. In State and Main the waiters are interactive and talk to you. The service is very friendly. They have manners and stand tall every shift. The food comes quickly and tastes extremely good. Even if allot is ordered it still comes quickly. The food in state and main is to die for. It moves fluently with taste buds. Great location, just off the southgate train station. Good ambience. Love the Dragon boat lettuce wrap. The serving size was good. Ok service.
The Alberta Bison Burger contained lean ground bison, served on a butter grilled brioche bun with bacon ketchup, lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickle, and melted cheddar cheese. It was a sight to behold! It was very big and definitely required two hands to pick up to eat. Unfortunately, I found that the bison patty itself was very thin.
Decent food but really great service. The beer selection is pretty limited but diverse. Seems worthy of another visit, plus the proximity to transit is a nice bonus.
I come here all the time, I love the atmosphere and the interior! Service is good usually, but can be very slow sometimes. I come here when I don't really have a craving for anything particular. The location is what gets me coming the most I think; if I come for lunch here it's so convenient to shop around after if I've got time or I can stop by after some shopping at the mall before heading home. I like their appetizers and cocktails, not too keen on their mains.
