An eclectic Cajun diner on Whyte Ave. Service was fast, friendly, and our server was super knowledgeable (overheard assisting other tables).
The drinks were served super fast and while our appies took a bit longer to materialise they were worth the wait. This most recent visit we shared the Cajun Calamari (fantastic) and Fritters (sweet potato or the jalapeño were my favorites). Mussels are always delicious and our standby
I have only ever eaten the Po'boy sandwiches as an entree: fried oyster is delicious as is pulled pork. The sweet potato fries have a thick and crispy batter with a soft and buttery inside. I love dipping them in the Tiger Sauce mixed with a bit of the mayo dip. The hash is tasty too and deserves the side of gravy.
Dessert consisting of a shared slice of pecan pie is heavenly. But for an even richer end to your meal the Banana Foster is unbelievable (feeds 4+ easily). Plus the show with tableside flambé is pure fun!

Had never been before, but since it was my birthday and my brother was in town, my boyfriend said we have to go. So we went, and I wasn't disappointed! I can't wait to come back. First time I've ever had a Po Boy, and from this place it won't be the last. My brother wants to come back to Edmonton so he can come back for the catfish. Keep up the awesome food and the great atmosphere that the place has. I can't forget the staff, as they were going to close about an hour after we had shown up, and they treated us like rock stars!!!
Entering DaDeO is like stepping back in time. The decor and music sets the mood and makes you forget about the troubles of 2017 as you take a seat by the neon lights!
For starters, we had the poutine and the fried chicken done Southern Fried style. These were absolutely scrumptious and would definitely recommend it if you prefer your chicken fried rather than in a sticky sauce.
For mains, we had the plate of half ribs and half chicken. The chicken was the same as the entree we got, which we didn't realise! If we had known we would've went with another dish or change the flavour of the chicken. The ribs weren't the best but the hash that it came with was yum.
Service was friendly and we will be coming back!

Got the oyster po'boy with sweet potato fries. The fries were delicious with their dip, but the sandwich was a disappointment. The sandwich was so greasy, I could only eat 1/3 of it and had to leave the rest. The server was nice, asked if something was wrong with it. I simply told them that I could not eat it because it was too greasy. They took it away and took it off our bill. If I happen to visit again, I would get the sweet potato fries again, but not the sandwich.
Have not been here in quite awhile. Went early, was not busy yet. All of us ordered po boys. Asked for shrimp just grilled without breading. Po boy was good but could have had more shrimp. Ordered with sweet potato fries, dip was good. Have always ordered the chili beer on draft. Ordered the bread pudding to share, was very tasy but a bit pricey at 10 dollars. Years ago I saw Gord Downie sitting at a corner table.
What a great spot its small & can be easily missed but it's in everyone's best interest to come here cause you do not want to miss out. You get a small biscuit & jalapeno jelly with all the meals & the jalapeno is so great that they sell bottles of it. I got the crab cake po' boy the role was super soft & the crab cakes tasted great with herb mayo & was very filling when it came out thought I would be buying another one.
Really good po'boys, fast service. Make sure you get the sweet potato fries, they're definitely the best side choice.

I was kind of hesitant to try this restaurant out because the most recent reviews haven't been so positive. But I decided to check this place out despite the negative reviews and ended up loving it.
Service right from the beginning was great. Server showed up quickly, and was helpful with the menu. Checked up on us an appropriate amount of time without being annoying.
Food was delicious. Especially the sweet potato fries. Breaded and seasoned perfectly. And also didn't take very long to come out.
They also have a decent selection of vegetarian items on the menu!
It’s been forever since my last visit to DaDeO’s. It was pretty packed for a Monday night but I guess that’s not surprising given the fact it’s $12.00 po’boys (also same deal on Tuesday’s). BiscuitComes with a side of jalapeno jelly. These are money; that jalapeno jelly is addictive. Just the perfect amount of heat to whet one’s appetite.
Great little american southern style diner food, friendly staff with an old school theme restaurant. Food here is great, especially their yam fries, in my opinion the best in town. They serve items like pork ribs, catfish, chicken, sandwhiches, mac and cheese, deep fried oysters etc etc. Price is fair for a eatery right on whyte ave, averaging at about 25$ per person for a full meal. I been here several times already and im gonna continue to come back, their yam fries are simply amazing
I thought that I had rated DaDeO a few years back, but I guess not. This is a unique little place to have some very good "New Orleans" food and, tonight, was no exception from the last time I was here. A bowl of gumbo, their DaDeO combo (Jambalaya, BBQ Beans and Blackened Chicken) finished off with some tasty bread pudding. (All washed down with a refreshing glass of cherry lemonade.)
I don't generally give a 5 unless everything - and, I mean everything - is superb. Atmosphere is a little diner-like, but the music was fantastic - so, a 4.5.
A must-come-back.
Upgraded to a five because Thus has become my go-to spot, when in Edmonton, for really great bayou-style food. They have Po-boys but I stick with two dishes everyone. A bowl of gumbo with a nice thick “gravy.” And, their Bayou Jambalaya. Wow!!!
Friendly staff, an eclectic music selection - a must-come-back place whenever I’m in Edmonton.
Only issue I have is they’re closed on Wednesday’s. Oh well.
Great place to eat. The Po Boys are awesome! They have the best sweet potato fries in Edmonton. The drinks are great and the staff are friendly.
