an amazing experience. Service from Kristoff was stellar, the food was amazing, the atmosphere was wonderful, my new favourite place! Also, the Strawberry Romanov was quite possibly the best thing I had ever put in my mouth :)

A great bistro! As a native Pole on a visit to Canada, I can testify to the genuine quality of Polish food served there. Delicious and fresh. I recommend Flaczki - better than anywhere else in the world. And the service - fantastic.

My husbamd took me out for our 17th anniversary. We were there for lunch and we really enjoyed it. Great food and we loved the dessert! Our waiter was very nice as well. I am originally from eastern europe so things like this always bring me back home.

In a heartbeat we'd eat there again! It's funny we passed by this bistro over the years, never actually going in having every intention to "someday". My husband took me there for lunch on our anniversary on the 25th and we had a marvelous time! We first tried and thoroughly enjoyed the dill pickle soup. My husband had the Ruben (he says the best he's ever had) and I enjoyed the Vienna Chicken Schnitzel (made so much like how my Grandmother Elsa made hers). I loved the decor of the place...a timeless charm and eclectic. Our server was a delightful woman who greeted us with a very friendly ,"Hello, Friends" . I know without a doubt this will be a regular stop for us from this point on!

We’ve ordered from here a couple of times during the quarantine and visited once last year. The food is good, and with a gluten intolerant spouse it’s a very safe feeling option.

My wife has loved it each time, but I’ve found it hit and miss. Things that have been great are: Schnitzel both pork and chicken, pierogis, and Pan fried potatoes. My wife loved the chicken and Black Forrest cake, I thought the cake was okay and found the lava cake we ordered our kids from Dominos was better, but I can appreciate how light and fluffy it was. I found the sausage to be uninspired and the duck was not very good, a bit off putting really. Unfortunately the best duck I’ve had in the city was at the now closed Solstice. Overall food is decent but on their price range there are better restaurants close by and certainly across the city. Service has always been fantastic though.

Went here tonight for my one year anniversary was not dissatisfied! Service was fast and friendly. Ordered the pickle soup was absolutely amazing. For dinner got the chicken schnitzel and my bf got the chicken stroganoff both were very large portion sizes filling cooked well. The food is very authentic European and home made feeling loved it will be back one day.

Edmonton is fairly limited in choices for European cuisine, but I feel that the Continental Treat Fine Bistro is one of the better ones. They're a nice, quiet restaurant. I find their clutter of decor a bit distracting but it makes for an interesting meal. I am a huge fan of the pickle soup and I tried the other sauerkraut soup for the first time and it was quite tasty although I like the pickle soup better. (Note that the pictures of the soup are bowls that are half eaten... We forgot to take the picture before we started.) We ordered the steak tartare, the mushroom spätzle (sp?) and a side of German dumplings. I forget the name!!! The German dumplings were super delicious! And the spätzle was quite tasty!!! Both can be quite heavy. I am not a huge fan of the red cabbage but I seldom find cabbage tasty on its own. The steak tartare was quite good but the serving is huge and I would recommend sharing with 3 or 4 people! The staff are very friendly and know the menu quite well. This place is well worth the visit.

I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon, to be greeted in a half empty restaurant. I am used to seeing the front half about 3/4 full of diners of all ages engaged in some sort of discussion. It was a very sunny day, and the restaurant was well lit with natural light. Paintings adorned the walls. I was promptly seated, and offered an impressive selection of local and import beers. My table happened to be facing a window with a view South, towards Whyte Avenue.

I need to take the opportunity to mention that the waitresses, and other Staff at this restaurant are among the most friendly, approachable and helpful you will find in the industry. I felt at ease during my entire visit. My waitress this evening was no exception, she was so polite!

That evening I ordered the Baked French Onion Soup and the Beef Tatar. The broth of the French Onion soup was not as as robust in flavor as I was expecting, but that was a kind of a good thing. As for the Beef Tatar: this has changed since I tried it last (or I have). The kitchen has got it right this time. It has just enough spice, with extra flavor on the side (capers, pickles, onions) so you can add what you like at the table. I had mine with plain toast instead.

Regardless of who you are, the Staff always treat you like family. The Continental Treat is, and always was a venue for young and old, singles or groups and it looks it more than ever. Between the food, decor and the service why not treat yourself to a cultured, relaxed dinner out? One to remember?

Absolutely delicious food and great service! The staff went above and beyond with being super accommodating even though we were late to our reservation. The food was amazing. Everyone seems to rave about the dill pickle soup and I'm glad I ordered it. Also had the escargots and I was skeptical about it but it was also excellent! The schnitzel and the perogies were made perfectly. Overall, it was a delightful experience that I'd recommend to anyone looking for a fancy night out.

So far I've been here two nights since my visit to Edmonton and I'm impressed each night. Gluten free or not this is the best prepared food I've had in a very long time. This food is made by people who love what they do. The service is Excellent and the atmosphere perfect. So far I've had the Pork Sniztle and Fungi and Spaetzle both superb. Oh, and by the way..the Tiramisu is amazing.. and it's gluten free.

The food here is absolutely delicious - no wonder this restaurant had been a Whyte Ave staple forever! Service was good, but the food was definitely better. They have an assortment of European foods - I’d recommend trying the Schnitzel or one of their specials. You can’t go wrong coming here!

They opened a new downtown location in December and it has the same amazing experience as the whyte ave location. It was the previously known as the hardware grill and it has the similar rustic- character of that legendary location with the added extraordinary food, service and hospitality. I'm happy this local restaurant is expanding their business. It is a worth a visit downtown to check out the awesome decor and stay there too.

Reserved a table for a “Chef’s tasting” this evening at the downtown location. Special VIP experience at a table overlooking the kitchen. Excellent food, great plating. Chef Liam did a great job for us.
