I have never had a meal here I didn't absolutely love. The staff are some of the kindest and most welcoming folks in the city. On top of that, they also have amazing art and giftware, made by local artists and crafters. As a bonus, they always have great beer on tap! Years later and I still absolutely love this place! Be sure to check out their comedy night and catch some local musicians jamming.

Love Dart Gallery. I always find something I want - a card, a ceramic piece or a picture/painting from the latest show. They have a membership where you can build up credit. I love that because then you can afford to buy larger pieces :)

Awesome place to eat and observe. The food is unbelievable. Mussels, fish cakes, vegetables, falafel, mushrooms all EXCELLENT! The gallery has so many hand crafted pieces of original jewelry, pottery, gift cards and paintings. I ate her twice in one weekend and found new things to look at both visits!

Always enjoy the gallery, especially the themed shows that allow so many artists to go in together, have attempted to try the food, never seemed to hit the time right when they were open, got there hours straightened out, went in for a friday nite meal and was told by the 3 people eating that it was a private function! I'll enjoy the wonderful smells that flow from the kitchen into the gallery and leave it at that.

Always forget here exists, but finally got to try it for brunch on a gorgeous Sunday in October. A friend and arrived at 11 and we were the only customers the full time we were there. The server asked if we were the two people who'd made reservations, and we were not... nor do I see reason to. I asked if it's normally that quiet and she said it isn't, and had been quite busy the night before (mind you, Nocturne was on, so lots of people out roaming the city would fill many businesses). Anyway. I'd been to the art store side before, and it's all one, but 'Picnic' is just the room to the right when you come in the entrance. Tiny place with seating for maybe 20 at most? Lots of natural light. Some random clutter around, but nicely decorated, as any art gallery cafe should be. An adorable stuffed bunny sits at the bar, wearing a hat. The bathroom floor is made entirely of pennies, which I found neat. The food is very good. My Huevos Urbanite ($11 'tortilla nest with refried beans, soft poached eggs, topping with spicy mole sauce) isn't huge, but moreso just the right size. It had a bbq sauce flavor to me, and that covered up a lot of the dish so I didn't actually see any beans, but I'm sure they were there with whatever type of beef constituted the main part of the dish I found? Basically I didn't find it to be exactly as its reads on the menu, but I liked it anyway. My friend had the Deluxe Khachapuri ($12.50 'bread boat with cheese topped with a set egg, bacon & hollandaise). It was a bit smaller than we had pictured as well, but more the proper size, and good for the price, very good tasting overall. Both came with a side salad of greens and a pink dressing. I'll be back!

Every time I go to Picnic at Dart and the Dart Gallery I have taken friends with whom I can share a wonderfully unique experience. We order our meal from an out-of -the0ordinary selection and then with our choice of beverage we walk through the gallery and enjoy the art before dining. The food is always 5 star and I always seem to find something that catches my attention and pocketbook in the gallery.

The D'art Gallery is a gem! Lots of local art in a slightly Bohemian atmosphere complete with a licensed eatery...a must stop in downtown Dartmouth. Staff are amazing and they often have live music

This is a fantastic hidden gem in downtown Dartmouth. It features local artisans work and has a cute cafe, Picnic at Dart, in the sane space that offers a great menu for evening dining.
