My parent and I ordered steamed dumplings with minced meat and vegetables, Korean style roll with vegetables and handmade wheat flour noodles with broth and vegetables at $20. Everything tasted well!!
The "skin" of the steamed dumplings was thin and the meat and vegetables were marinated well that we didn't need to dip into any soy sauce or sauces. The flavour was perfect.
The noodles were chewy and the texture was about right. There was no meat in this bowl but there were some vegetables and eggs in the soup.
I would definitely go back and try other dishes this time. The staff was friendly. The restaurant was small that there were only a few tables.
Back for more!!. During another recent stay in the area, we returned to Sol's for breakfast/lunch twice - had to try some more of their good Korean food offerings!!
What we ordered, and shared:
- Jjin Mandu (steamed dumplings) - the dumplings (10 of them) stuffed with minced beef and veggies - served piping hot to the table, quite large, and very tasty.
- Odeng (fish cakes in broth) - fish cakes (I counted five different kinds), in a light, soy-flavoured broth - served steaming hot, and flavourful.
- Pat Kalguksu (Korean noodle dish) - large, hand-made Korean noodles, along with a few veggies, condiments, and an egg, in an in-house prepared Azuki bean paste soup - steaming hot, and so good!!
Our kind of breakfast/lunch fare!! And each dining experience sure "hit-the-spot". We like Sol's, and it represents such good-value dining!!

Tasty breakfast snack!!. We discovered this little Korean sit-in/take-out snack place during a recent morning walkabout in Hanin Village. Sol's was open, we peaked in, and decided it would be perfect for a breakfast snack. We were right, and sure glad we decided to go in and try some of their food.
It's a little place, with four small tables, serving mostly take-out orders, I suspect, and opens at 10am. The cook was busy preparing a take-out order when we came in at 10:30am, and became her first sit-down customers.
We shared orders of fish cake soup and steamed dumplings. The soup was a good-sized bowl worth, with several different types of fish cakes, in a mild and flavourful, light stock. The dumplings (10 of them) large, and well-stuffed with a mixture of minced beef and veggies. Both dishes were freshly prepared and tasty, and served piping hot to our table.
Our kind of breakfast, and it sure "hit-the-spot". We liked Sol's little place!!
