We stopped in today for lunch after noticing it while driving past. We had never tried Balkan food before, so we thought we would try something different and I am so happy we did. The food was amazing! My husband had the roasted lamb and I had the chevaps, both dishes had wonderful flavour and great presentation. The service was the best I have had in a while. I highly recommend this place, it was excellent!!!
Excellent and authentic Balkan food in an adorable space with a great atmosphere. We stopped in for lunch and were extremely happy with everything. The food was fantastic. The service was top-notch. The setting/decor is adorable and very authentically Balkan. There is live music on weekends... So if you're looking for a fun night out or a quiet lunch, Vayat is definitely worth a try.
Best restaurant in Metro Vancouver. Tasty house made food, friendly environment, nice decoration and customer service is perfect. Puff pastry and veal soup are great.
Terrific food. Friendly owner/server. However a little slow as she was the only one working front of house. Make sure you get the log with the cheese and meat inside! Wish they had some region specific beer.

Great Food! We enjoyed the tripe stew, chicken schnitzel with gorgonzala sauce, roasted veal with gravy, and vayat meat platter. The proportions are huge. Will surely go back for more.
As a German, that hit the spot. Had Gorgonzola chicken Schnitzel and it was great. Not to mention this red garlic cream, delicious. Waitress was super nice, and friendly. Decoration is just a bit outdated but it was authentic 90ths east European decoration 😅. Well definitely be back ☺️
After back from our trip to Serbia in August 2019, I've been trying to find balkan food in Vancouver. Happily I found here and tried and became addicted😍😍😍
The smoke meat platter is so tasty. Bean stew is also my favorite. My son is very loyal to their Karajorjevna schnitzl. My husbands's favorite is the veal soup and sesame battered chicken.
Gordana and her husband are very friendly and made us feel we were back in Serbia. We spent our Christmas with them here. This is our regular restaurant to go since we found it a year ago.
Highly recommend to anyone likes or wants to try balkan food.

Amazing food at a good value! Huge meat platters, amazing schnitzels, delicious cabbage rolls! Serbian food is very familiar with those who like certain Polish, German, Balkan and other nearby region's food. However, it has it's own unique flair...especially when consuming copious amounts of rakija (fruit brandy).
