Located just a couple of blocks from Coquitlam Centre, we showed up mid-afternoon on Saturday and not surprisingly were seated right away. We ordered the Pork Bone Soup which may have come with a side of steamed rice (something did). I have come to be a fan of this soup and its rich spicy broth and always order it when it is on the menu. The use of neck bones which might seem to some like they have no use but stock is the sign of great cuisine; peasant cuisine in which all parts of an animal are used and made into something great. Nothing is wasted and if you are a carnivore that should always be true. The process of carefully picking over the bones for the tasty bits of meat feels like a bit of a ritual. The soup is nicely rounded out by a few enoki mushrooms and chunks of potato. Excellent! We always kind of crave Korean Fried Chicken and this time we ordered the sweet and spicy version. In retrospect maybe the regular would have been a better choice. The sauce kind of detracts from the crispy double fried pieces and is maybe a little too sticky and sweet. That is not a deep regret and we still enjoyed it. You can order a half portion (which this is) for only $13.50 or a whole or half and half. The finely shredded cabbage with some variation of Thousand Islands is always one of my favourite things. This came with something but again, I'm not sure what! Kimchi Fried Rice was next. No big surprises here as the kimchi seemed to be of good quality and the egg was nicely cooked. A comforting dish. This was the first time that we have had Bossam. At $18 it was the most expensive thing that we ordered but look at how much pork belly there is! Served with pickled radish and slivered green onion and a spicy sauce and another sort of chilli sauce, this was amazing. I'm not sure if it was just that it was new to us but we were keen on it. I remember when I thought Korean food meant Bibimbap, and Seafood Pancake and now we are so enamoured of the dishes we have discovered since then. The pork belly was so tender and we ate it with tastes of all the sides in the same bite or in various combinations. Excellent! This is a chic and comfortable little place with lots of warm wood. We found the service to be very good. Just so you know, we took probably half of the food home. I don't want you to think that we are gluttons!

H and I met up with D and A for dinner in Coquitlam. They tempted us to travel out into the Tri-Cities with promises of Korean fried chicken, paired with grape flavored soju at OZ:. The seafood pancake and seafood soondobu soup came out first. Well, the soju came out first (side note - apparently, grape soju tastes like communion). The seafood pancake was impressively crispy, but lacking a bit in flavour, sort of boring without the dipping sauce. The spices in the soup were sneaky; they'd creep up on you a few seconds after finishing a spoonful, and it would be pretty spicy.

Their Korean chicken was pretty good and tasty. We ordered the 1/2 and 1/2 chicken and it was perfectly delicious. Noodles were tasty as well. Will definitely come back.

First time here with 3 friends for dinner and our experienced was excellent. The restaurant is a bit busy but we were lucky to be seated right away. The place is a bit small but not tight. Staff are friendly and attentive. Everything we ordered were delicious except for their side of Kimchi, it’s a bit sour. We enjoyed our stay and the foods we ate so we will definitely go back here and highly recommended to try.

Just outside of Koreantown, is OZ Korean Cuisine, which specializes in Korean Fried Chicken. It’s located right by Coquitlam Centre on the corner of Glen Pine and Pinetree Way, away from all the competition in K-town.

I love OZ. Ive been multiple times and the fried chicken is always yummy. Portion size is generous and prices are decent. I like the long hours as it's a good place to go later in the night

Been here quite often. Service is great and very accommodating. The fried chicken is probably the best in the tri-cities. The chicken has a nice crunchy outer coating that doesn't leave you sick from grease like other places do. The padak is my personal favourite. Very generous with the green onions. However, the sauce is on the sweeter side. Definitely recommend this place.

Just popped in for a quick bite. So glad to find a Korean Fried Chicken shop in the Coq center area! Service is friendly and efficient and the chicken was good and decently portioned for it's price. It has a chill and upbeat vibe for young people to come hang out and drink at night, but it also caters to family who also want to taste the yummy fried chicken (i saw a lot of families with young infants when we went around 6pm).

OZ is one of the better Korean Fried Chicken places in the Coquitlam area. Their chicken set is consistently delicious, spicy rice cake dish, Tteok-bokki, is always a welcome side. The ambience is always nice, a good mix of teens, families and couples dining together, and the atmosphere is always lively. Food is priced reasonably, but I’ve noticed that they’ve increased their prices a little and their portions have shrunk. Service is a hit and miss, and visiting during dinner time usually results in a long lineup. Our group of 5 waited for about 40 minutes in the freezing rain before being seated and staff were pretty much aloof and didn’t really come by the tables to get refills of water/tea unless you got their attention. Otherwise, I’d recommend coming here for the food and beer, but not for the service.

Went for lunch on a Thursday and it was nice and quiet. Service was quick and efficient. We really liked the honey chicken and the snow chicken. We also ordered Tteokbokki and seafood pancake and both were great. Good place to go with a small group to share, so you can try a variety of flavours.
