Grayson and I don’t go for desserts very often but when we smelled the oh so wonderful and buttery smell of Taiyaki from Snowy village cafe we couldn’t resist! While we were in line, we realized that these were not your typical taiyaki pastries because these used puff pastry on the outside instead of a batter. This makes it crispy and flaky on the outside.
Had Watermelon Bingsoo for dessert with friends after our dinner and it was very good. The milky shaved ice is perfect. It’s not bland and not too sweet. The presentation was very appealing and really nice in pictures. The place was not busy maybe due to cold weather. Will definitely try other flavors next time.
I came here on a Sunday long weekend and it was packed. Fortunately it only took 15 mins for a table.
I didn't know they had a cheese cake bingso, so I decided to give it a try.
The cheese cake bingo is good but not as memorable as the classic and popular mango bingso. But still, points for effort on creating a different item for the menu.
Service is excellent and the consistency on preparing the items are in par with other locations.
Price point us high, but if you want you moneys worth, definitely go for the mango bingso. It's delicious.
Snowy Village opened its Coquitlam location in late December. We noticed some new items on the menu – Mini Watermelon and Honeydew Bingsoo, Golden Cheese and Injeolmi Toasts, and Cheesy Mochy. I appreciate that Snowy Village has expanded its menu but honestly the best items are still the Bingsoo and Taiyaki. The Injeolmi Toast was pretty good, but not sure if I would order it every time.
Finally a Snowy Village in the Tri-Cities! Dream come true. Had the mango bingsoo twice and one of their taiyakis. Delicious! The shaved ice is milky and smooth and the smaller size is always enough for my boyfriend and I when we come in. The taiyaki is interesting- the dough is kind of like croissant, not what I was expecting but still very good and I would have it again. The only thing about this place is that the location is often PACKED. Nothing really to be done about that- just means that they're really popular!
Having just been introduced to Bingsoo, I'm hooked. So much better than what goes by shaved ice around the lower mainland. Creamy and light as air. The little "fishcakes" are like a denser version of croissants with fillings inside. All locations are always busy no matter what time of day. However definitely worth the wait.
Atmosphere: Open space with tables pretty close together. Stools are not the comfortable variety. Busy at 1pm. Service: Order at the till, food comes to you. . Bottom line: Dessert, icy desserts, they're my favourite. Plus with mango and icy sweets, I'm sold. I figured this was the water ice variety but after the first couple bites, I soon realized this was the milk variety. Being lactose intolerant, this was a too late situation, might as well finish it and deal with it later. #PainForPleasure. They have other treats such as those fish pancakes with filling inside, if I was to come back the next time, I would get the pancakes.
