We were very surprised to find excellent & authentic Japanese food here. The owner is also an avid photographer of the great naturals around Campbell River.
After a long double-ferry journey, my partner and I wandered into Takao's Kitchen having never been before.
Takao was very kind, had a wicked sense of humor, and made some terrific rolls. Takao is a wonderful photographer as well, with loads of knowledge of the Valley & its lovely wildlife. we will certainly be back for more great food and great conversation. Thanks Takao!
Excellent sushi and great value. I will be coming back for sure. Also features some beautiful nature photography done by the chef himself in his restaurant. Awesome little spot!
Eat here! This place is exactly why I love searching out hole-in-the-wall places to eat. When you first walk in, it won't be at all what you expect, but Takao will chat with you and make you some absolutely delicious sushi. He makes everything fresh, and every bite was sooo full of flavour. He suggested a couple of house rolls which were out of this world good. Next time I'm on Campbell River, I'm going back here. So good!
