Cute little bakery! The staff were friendly and polite. There’s limited parking (2-3 parking stalls) around the backside of the shop. I picked up a slice of double chocolate mousse, it was delicious — not too sweet and fairly fresh. Though I found that if your purchase is $10 and under, it has to be cash only.
I'm in love with their mango mousse cake. It's amazing. I believe we paid $30 for the cake and it fed about 6-8 people. Really amazing and affordable
Lovely French-influenced desserts with a Japanese twist. After much deliberation, I finally decided to try the Napoleon, Honey Cake, and Red Bean Paste Buns. The Napoleon was pretty good (airy whipped cream sandwiched between layers of tender sponge cake with a hint of vanilla), but I do prefer it when puff pastry is used rather than sponge cake. The Honey Cake was light and airy, very eggy with a touch of honey. To my surprise, the Red Bean Paste Buns had a coconut filling (perhaps they were just mislabeled?) but by far, they were my favourite dessert. The bun itself was very soft, and the filling was absolutely delectable: just the right amount of sweetness with lots of coconut-y goodness. Definitely think about giving Yamato a visit.
Yamato bakery has changed hands since about 10 months ago, but definitely for the better. Their Hokkaido chiffon cake is so soft and delicious. The roll cakes are very good too, I particularly like the green tea red bean and fresh mango. They don't use canned fruit everything is natural. Cake is not overly sweet, light, and delicious.
Decided to try this bakery today because I always see it when I drive by, the green tea cheesecake is soo delicious! So smooth! Good quality cheesecake here I would definitely be coming back! They also offered thin sesame crisps for sampling which was very tasty as well!
Yamato saved my butt!. I forgot to order a cake for my mom's birthday a few months ago, but headed to Yamato anyway to see if they had anything on hand. Since it was a Saturday, I didn't expect much - surprisingly, despite me emphasizing that I needed a cake that would feed 12 people *that day*, I was simply handed the menu and told to choose whatever I want. The cake was ready in less than 10 minutes! Thanks, Yamato!
Extremely satisfying quality of desserts, and lovely variety of flavours! My friends and I were planning to order 1 pc each but ended up ordering other flavors to try!
AMAZING!. Cakes are light and delish!!! Cream cheese not too sweet which is typical of Japanese cheese cake. Presentation very enticing. I was suppose to order only 1 dessert fro each of us but ended up trying most of their dessert. But the place is small for big groups. You can order ahead for caked and even have a greeting on it. Staff very helpful and friendly.

As a family, we have always went here for family cakes. They are reasonable in price for the cake you get. Cake started at $18 before and I think it's at $21 for 1 lb of cake. Measurement are by lbs because it's how they measure. I had asked them pricing for my company ales and it's very reasonable. Anyways, my favorite is mango cheesecake, tiramisu and Cappacino flavor. It's less sweet than Safeway cakes so you won't taste the sugar on your teeth. Give it a try!
