The food is authentic and delicious. It takes me back to Korea and I recommend the food here to everyone!
Loved the service and a very good tasted food!
Thank you
I love this place!! I've been going here for as long as I can remember. I've gotta admit, I like their weekend cook better than their weekday cook. The waiting time could be shorter, but it doesn't stop me from coming here. The same lady at the front has been here for SO long and she's always so sweet, sarcastic and blunt (in a good way). Probably my favourite korean resto in Calgary!
It's in a unique spot full of Korean businesses. We were 4 people and ordered the BBQ for 3 and bibimbap on the side. Everything is good and plenty of food. The typical starter side dishes that include kimchi were nice. The highlight was the seafood pancake that was delicious. Each table is a private booth that makes comfortable seating. The service was good as well and the wait time was not bad at all given it was Friday night.
Delicious and fresh, Korean Village Restaurant is definitely one of my favorite places for Korean food in the city. The prices are very reasonable, but don't come here expecting a quick meal -- there can be a wait for a table if you get there later in the evening, and the food can take a while to prepare depending on what you order.
The fried chicken entree comes wicked hot and very spicy!! The chicken was well cooked with a crispy outside, and the sauce was very good. It was definitely plenty of food for two people. I would highly recommend ordering rice and side dishes to go with it.
Their dumplings are also amazing. Filled with a mixture of pork and beef and then deep fried, the meat stays juicy and the dipping sauce is loaded with flavour.
Another favourite is the kimchi jjigae, which is a kimchi stew with onion, tofu, and sliced pork. Don't approach lightly, as this dish is wicked spicy. Beyond the heat, it's packed with flavor and is a perfect bowl for a cold winter day. Personally, I'll enjoy kimchi jjigae any day of the year!
The owner is very friendly and has a good sense of humor. I can't wait for my future trips so that I can try all the other dishes they have to offer. Stop in here for lunch or dinner between trips to Arirang Foods and Korean Bakery next door.
My go to for Korean. Their stonebowls are decent and service is always great.
The two things I dislike are the greasy seafood pancakes and the lack of circulation in the restaurant. Other than those I’d highly recommend Korean Village.
Always good here. The servers are a little hit and miss but it's ok they are friendly. The food has a clean and fresh taste to it and it's always nice to have complimentary tea to go with your meal. Favourites are the bibimbap and kkangpungi really good portion size and always satisfying!
This restaurant is well established in Calgary and it was busy on a Saturday night, people were waiting at the door. Food was good and don't expect any good service at a Chinese or Korean restaurants then you won't get fed up. Love their Korean pancake, nice and crispy on the edge. I could never stop with just one and always ended up with 4-5 slices in my belly...yum yum yum.
I love this place! The staff are very welcoming and friendly. The food quality is always consistent and at a reasonable price. The food is always fresh and I love that they have monthly (?) specials. I had a seafood dukbokki pot special that was on the menu for a limited time and absolutely adored it. I returned with my friends to try this dish out and they loved it as well. I also recommend their tofu stew and seafood bibibap. Absolutely adore this place!
Favorite korean restaurant in Calgary. Because the food is always prepared fresh, and is authentic. The prices are reasonable, and the service is great. There is a large selection of food on the menu as well, compared to some other Korean restaurants in the city.
Love coming here and I recommend this place to anyone that likes Korean cuisine!
Went here on a Monday night. It was still quite full although we didn't need to wait for a table. Atmosphere is like a comfy small corner with warm food. All I can say is that the food is extremely delicious. It has an authentic, homemade, flavor to it. Tteokbokki is my favorite and I must say the rice cakes here are extremely fresh. Price is a tad high but worth the quality of the food. Must try place for authentic Korean food in Calgary.
Usually come for the korean soup ( spicy pork neck and potato) and they never dissapoint. Really fair price for portion since the soup comes with rice and 4-5 different types of refillable banchan.
Excellent place to warm up on a chilly Calgary day.
Finally found the best Korean restaurant in the city. Ordered the spicy squid bibimbap and was not disappointed at all. The seafood pancake was the best I had so far in the city. It is huge and has the perfect crunch. They also serve barley tea(which is hard to get by). Amazing food, amazing service. This was definitely worth it.
Had a nice lunch here. All dishes were tasty and the service was extremely attentive and friendly. They have many seats and can accommodate larger groups. Try the Seafood Pajeon!!
Can't wait to go back with a bigger group!
Had been there with a friend for lunch during a workday. The surroundings were very clean and the staff was attentive and helpful. For an individual having a small lunch, the options were a little limited. They did have bento boxes for takeaway but not for dine in. We ordered 2 different Bibimbap. The paper table mats felt warm and nice. We were served complimentary roasted rice tea and accompaniments (kimchi, radish, fishcake etc). As we were there during our lunch break, the order seemed to take a little longer to be ready but the food was sooooooo delicious that I'd gladly have waited longer. The portions were quite large. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. The menu looks like it was designed for larger groups of people. I hope I get to try it very soon.

Coming from Toronto K-Town, and cooking Korean for years and having a Korean girlfriend, this is some authentic amazing food.
The servicu can be a bit slow, but it is worth because it is all made just for you and tastes amazing.
The sides are also really great! The price is well worth and if you've never had Korean food before I suggest coming here. We had this 1 hour before our flight back to Toronto and it warms and fills you up!!
Food is authentic and delicious. Service is great, seatings are comfortable and spacious. Portion is big though so be mindful when order cuz you will want to try everything!
