I tried the 9-spice wood fire grilled half chicken, and not only was it delicious, the portion size could easily feed two people (so I had to take part of my entree home). For dessert I tried the torta rogel, a rich layered wafer cake served with a toasted meringue, and it was superb. Our server was attentive without being overbearing. A great experience overall.
Absolutely LOVE the venue. We'll be back! Amazing what they've done here with this historic building. It's beautifully rustic and modern. A stunning aesthetic. We stopped in on long holiday weekend for brunch and we shared 2 appetizers. We started with drinks ā a coral drive and a Trolley. Both weee very good and would highly recommend. We shared the crispy fired calamari and the pistachio & avocado bruschetta. We thoroughly enjoy the combination. Will definitely return.
Tried their brunch and dinner menu on a same day! For brunch, I got the Double Patty Gaucho Burger and man it was heavy and sumptuous! Beef patty tasted really good, loaded with mozza and guacamole! My partner ordered Avocado toast and she said it was great too! Their avo toast had a chimichuri drizzle that adds flavour to the overall experience.
For dinner, we tried their NY striploin steak (medium well), crispy calamari salad and torta rogel for dessert. Their steak was perfectly grilled and charred! We added chimichuri on the side to feel the real Argentinian meat experience. Crispy calamari salad was good too, with equal ratio of meat and greens. I think the best plate we had at Charbar was the Torta Rogel dessert cake. Itās a layer of wafer, dulce de leche and chocolate sauce. You should definitely try it! Staff were awesome and gave us a really good table service.
The only issue we had was the SEAT CUSHION. Weāve read several reviews of this place and most of them complained of the very poor seat cushion. Be careful of seating down fast because it will give you a feeling of āfallā on the floor. We observed other guests too and they all had the face of surprise when they sat on this cushion.
I initially thought of giving them 4 Stars because of the cushion. But the food experience was really great that we decided to give them 5. Hopefully they change their seats soon cause they will get a lot of bad reviews from impatient and grumpy patrons.
The food was not bad, but I canāt say that it was worth it for the price. I mainly liked how they cooked the steak, but that was really the only thing that stood out to me.
Just landed in Canada from the UK to travel for a couple of weeks holiday. Best brunch Iāve ever had. The eggs Benedict was sublime in every possible way. Awesome chilled atmosphere outside, and great, friendly service. Iāll be back before I leave.
This was an amazing experience on many levels. The service was top notch. The ambiance was one of a kind. The food was to die for. We will be back for sure.
