I loved this out of the way place on Boston Mills Rd off Mississauga Rd. Fabulous food with some of the best homemade bread I have ever tasted! Try the chefs choice tasting plate ( it really serves 2 or 3) wonderful. Must go back to try the pizza!
What a gem! We had the most delicious lunch on your patio today. I'm a huge fan of cider and sampled five of your cider flavors....lavender infused was unbelievably delish.
I purchased 2 large jugs to go. Will be back soon for a refill and another amazing meal on your patio
dre: We came across Spirit Tree Cidery by accident, mostly looking to use a washroom after a hike in Terra Cotta. They sell apple ciders (obviously), as well as alcoholic ciders. We bought some apple cider and it was SOOOO good. They had a large oven where we heated up some pizza as a snack/lunch. They also sold other baked goods like pies.
After we were done picking our apples, we headed to the store so I can get my loot—got all sorts of hard cider and hubby and I are slowly trying them out. The sparkling pear non-alcoholic cider was a hit with the kids. The apple cider, though, was a bit on the sweet side. Still, the kids enjoyed it. We also tried some of their baked goods. The Normandy Apple bread was nice with bits of apple inside. We also enjoyed the Leek and Asiago scones which were very flavourful and had a great texture! They also have a bistro which we will definitely check out next time! I heard they have some woodfired pizza on Friday/Saturday nights.
Great ambiance, good thin crust pizza, cidre flight was so-so, service was lacking for sure. Maybe I caught the staff on a bad day, I haven't rushed back to give it a 2nd chance. The shoppe was a foodie delight.
I was expected to be WOW by Spirit Tree Cider during my most recent visit, but I was so impressed by their other produces.
Fresh Baked Good from the Wood Fired Oven is just amazing: Artisan Bread, Tarts, Scones, Cookies and more. The ingredients used so fresh and seasonal. Highly recommend their Scones: the rhubarb scone was stuffed with fresh rhubarb with the sourness balanced with sprinkled coarse sugar.
Jams with seasonal fruits. And even a house made Thai hot sauce with apple as one of the ingredients.
Cider: Sweet or Sparkling. And don't forget to pick up some hard cider, as only their Spirit Tree Draught is available at LCBO.
Great place to visit if you are a "cider" fan, but Spirit Tree Estate Cidery has a lot to offer!
Attending the restaurant as part of a Culinary Historians of Canada event, we were treated to a special family style menu. Renditions of these dishes are available on their regular menu: a sandwich and soup combo costs $14.
To start, the butternut squash was thick and vibrant, with a hint of curry to add interest. The thick wedges of the stone ground country bread accompanying it was a perfect pairing for dipping.
With a combination of baby greens and cranberries, I expected the salad to be sweet. But, the dressing was actually a tangy mustard vinaigrette with a horseradish kick, which was more up my alley.
Of course, we had to try Spirit Tree’s star product … the cider! A lovely amber hue and intensely flavoured, it’s made on site with the apples grown
First time visit today. I love the sparkling cranberry non-alcoholic cider i got. I heard great things about their buttertarts and they were indeed very good. I got a bacon cheese loaf which was just ok the bacon made the bread taste raw and soggy and i found it way too oily the ingredients seemed high quality though. Was planning on having lunch but the offerings were a bit too out there/foodie for my mom and grand parents to find anything they would eat. Will return.
Update....
Since my original post we have been back here time and time again. You can pick up their ciders at the lcbo now but its good to go for their pizza night and try the seasonal ciders. Make sure you make reservations for pizza night its easy to do online on their website! Buttertarts and english muffins are both amazing!
Great Experience. A small menu but I love their pizzas. Like the sampler of ciders you can get. All round great food, quick service and a wonderful time.
Second visit!. First time, had a great pizza slice. Second time, the three of us had flights of cider and their platter of cheeses, baguette, meat and pickled veggies. Beautiful to sit out on the side patio and enjoy the view and spring air after a Niagara escarpment hike just down the road. Be sure to check out their bakery/breads too.
