Inexpensive Vietnamese Noodles

Went their on a Saturday lunch - a table for 2.

Tried their : No. 10 - Cooked beef, beef tendon, beef tripe w. rice noodles in soup; No. 14 - Cooked beef, Vietnamese ham & chicken balls w. rice vermicelli in spicy soup (only a 50-cent difference from a small to a large bowl).

The noodle soup was hot, the broth was ok but not super tasty.  Bean sprouts & lime were very fresh.  Lots of meat.

Service was not bad but definitely not good (the servers did not have much facial expression but you just can't say they were rude though...)

Still an okay place to go if you're hungry and if you like Vietnamese noodles soup.

👍 Good portions and cuts of beef.
This pho place has been here for easily over 10 years. Pretty consistent food and service. The soup does have a bit of msg.

My girlfriend and I came here for a quick dinner. We didn't expect much, just wanted to try a different place. I had deja vu for a second because I think they have another location. It wasn't until I went on zomato that I found out they had another location in Punjabi market on fraser street.

We ordered the classic house special and it's done to standard. Nothing wow but good enough for a comfortable experience on a rainy day. Service is good and there's plenty of parking all around. I would come back if I'm around the area.

It’s been a long time since our family visited Pho Hong. I meant all in the family dine here together. Ben does come here once in a while for his lunch on work week. The aging wall paper had gone. It looks brighter now with the white paint. The usual condiments for pho. The bean sprouts are served raw.

It has been almost a decade and half since I stepped foot in this restaurant. Back in the day when my best friend Johnson and I visited places to eat, my Vietnamese brother from another mother showed me this place. Johnson what happened to us, how come we don't hang out no more? not like you would probably ever read this but if you do, I miss you buddy.
Moving on, got a large Pho with extra noodles came to $10 and shared it with my GF. It was good value for two people and the hot tea is a plus. I rate this out of 4 purely because of that, also they close after 9PM.

The beef noodle is really good here. Some people mentioned their service wasn't great. I think it's not too bad. It's a pho restaurant, not fine dining. Their portion is good and the meat are fresh. I also like the fact that they use ceramic bowls, not plastics with BPA.

Beef Noodle. This place is my very first pho place ever and the price for a bowl of pho is around 8 dollars and its pretty good deal for a quick bite.

Best Bon Bo hue soup I've ever had. Before moving away from the lower mainland. I would eat here at least 3 times a week. Just to have this soup. I can't find any place that makes it as good as these guys. I always stop in for a large bowl, when I'm in town for a visit!

Best broth in Lower Mainland here! And their Vietnamese coffee, hot or iced, is to die for. My husband loves the spring rolls, and I go for the # 3.
Re the waitstaff, mentioned unfavourably in some reviews: I know them pretty well, and they are really nice people, willing to go out of their way for you. But, like waiters in Spain, for example, they do not fawn nor do they respond to rudeness. If you are polite and considerate, you will have good service. Come back a few times with a good attitude and you will soon be a favorite here.

Original Vietnamese Cuisine in the heart of Burnaby. Pho Hong restaurant offers great Vietnamese dishes and soups at very reasonable prices. It is like a fast food restaurant but with the quality of food offered at a higher end restaurant. Apparently it is the first Vietnamese restaurant in Burnaby and the owners and staff are very helpful and attentive. This restaurant is always busy for the reasons I mentioned earlier.

Cheap, fast & tasty. Enjoyed the small Pho with medium rare beef & beef balls and a spring roll. The broth was flavourful and the spring roll was crispy and tasty. This was the least oily Pho I've ever enjoyed. Service was fast although lacking in smiles.

Best Value. OMG! Not the best service, Not the best restaurant decor, but OMG the best pho ever which special comes in a large bowl with spring rolls. And the grilled chicken lemon grass is amazing. I'd have to say you definitely get your money's worth. the portions are perfect for 2 to share.

Smell Your Jacket. We love Pho Hong. Used to visit them once a week. Cheap, delicious and huge portions. You gotta smell your clothing after a meal there. The smell of pho sticks to your jacket for the entire day.

Definitely one of the best Pho places in Burnaby! Really cheap and filling, a winner in my opinion! The interior could use a update, but overall: awesome!
Rating: 4 stars.

The service here is really fast and attentive, until you want to get the bill. I find this funny because usually, it’s the other way around. I normally pay by going up to the front counter, but I’m sure they will take your money at your table if you call them over. The only down-side for me of this restaurant is that they only accept cash or debit (over a certain amount).

We started out with the Cha Gio which gets you 2 large and crispy Vietnamese spring rolls. Next was the Ga Nuong Xien or lemongrass chicken skewers on vermicelli - a good size portion and tasty chicken. We also tried their Com Cari Bo (curry beef on rice). It comes with generous portions of lean beef brisket and is a huge serving. My only complaint is that the curry sauce is not very thick and doesn't have a very distinct curry flavour to it. Lastly, I wanted to try their pho so I went with the Pho So 1 (weird how this sentence reads) which is a combination of a whole bunch of different beef with rice noodles in soup. OMG, this was a huge serving! There were meat balls, beef slices, tendon, tripe, and a pinkish raw slice of beef on t

I first visited Pho Hong a few years back, and always remembered this restaurant as the spring rolls pho joint because they had really good spring rolls and adding an order of spring rolls to a large pho is like the thing to do here. I was picking up a few things from NCIX on Kingsway, and decided to come back to this place again for lunch. I ordered the special pho here, and according to my friend who visits here often advised me to ordered a large bowl because it has better noodle/ingredient to soup ratio than the medium bowl. And as the thing to do here, I also got a spring roll. In general, I thought the pho was just average. The broth was light but needed more depth in flavor, the meats were good, and the noodles were just way over cooked and too soft. One thing I also noticed was that they serve cooked bean sprouts instead of raw ones. I’m not sure if I like it, but I didn’t mind it either. On to the spring rolls, it was mostly pork and as tasty

Once upon a time … almost 10 years ago … when Arkensen and Nanzaro were just toddlers, Pho Hong was the family favourite restaurant. We used to eat there once a week, without fail. Always on a Sunday. That was when we were attending the church nearby.
