Inexpensive Vietnamese Noodles
Went their on a Saturday lunch - a table for 2.
Tried their : No. 10 - Cooked beef, beef tendon, beef tripe w. rice noodles in soup; No. 14 - Cooked beef, Vietnamese ham & chicken balls w. rice vermicelli in spicy soup (only a 50-cent difference from a small to a large bowl).
The noodle soup was hot, the broth was ok but not super tasty. Bean sprouts & lime were very fresh. Lots of meat.
Service was not bad but definitely not good (the servers did not have much facial expression but you just can't say they were rude though...)
Still an okay place to go if you're hungry and if you like Vietnamese noodles soup.
👍 Good portions and cuts of beef.
This pho place has been here for easily over 10 years. Pretty consistent food and service. The soup does have a bit of msg.
My girlfriend and I came here for a quick dinner. We didn't expect much, just wanted to try a different place. I had deja vu for a second because I think they have another location. It wasn't until I went on zomato that I found out they had another location in Punjabi market on fraser street.
We ordered the classic house special and it's done to standard. Nothing wow but good enough for a comfortable experience on a rainy day. Service is good and there's plenty of parking all around. I would come back if I'm around the area.
It’s been a long time since our family visited Pho Hong. I meant all in the family dine here together. Ben does come here once in a while for his lunch on work week. The aging wall paper had gone. It looks brighter now with the white paint. The usual condiments for pho. The bean sprouts are served raw.
It has been almost a decade and half since I stepped foot in this restaurant. Back in the day when my best friend Johnson and I visited places to eat, my Vietnamese brother from another mother showed me this place. Johnson what happened to us, how come we don't hang out no more? not like you would probably ever read this but if you do, I miss you buddy.
Moving on, got a large Pho with extra noodles came to $10 and shared it with my GF. It was good value for two people and the hot tea is a plus. I rate this out of 4 purely because of that, also they close after 9PM.
The beef noodle is really good here. Some people mentioned their service wasn't great. I think it's not too bad. It's a pho restaurant, not fine dining. Their portion is good and the meat are fresh. I also like the fact that they use ceramic bowls, not plastics with BPA.
Beef Noodle. This place is my very first pho place ever and the price for a bowl of pho is around 8 dollars and its pretty good deal for a quick bite.
Best Bon Bo hue soup I've ever had. Before moving away from the lower mainland. I would eat here at least 3 times a week. Just to have this soup. I can't find any place that makes it as good as these guys. I always stop in for a large bowl, when I'm in town for a visit!
Best broth in Lower Mainland here! And their Vietnamese coffee, hot or iced, is to die for. My husband loves the spring rolls, and I go for the # 3.
Re the waitstaff, mentioned unfavourably in some reviews: I know them pretty well, and they are really nice people, willing to go out of their way for you. But, like waiters in Spain, for example, they do not fawn nor do they respond to rudeness. If you are polite and considerate, you will have good service. Come back a few times with a good attitude and you will soon be a favorite here.
