Great value sushi restaurant with prompt quick service. Menu is varied and offers something for most sushi lovers.
Dining area is bright and airy but utilitarian in nature. Romantic ambiance is not offered.

I probably would never have tried Hiro if I didn’t work nearby but it’s definitely one of my favourite spots for spicy scallop roll, spicy tuna roll & dynamite roll (AKA all the rolls that come in Spicy Combo A)
Some places offer spicy chopped scallop, where they use too much mayo (cough Sushi California) and it comes smaller and often falls apart (cough Sushi Garden) But Hiro’s spicy scallop roll comes at a good size with the perfect amount of mayonnaise and spicy sauce.
Their spicy tuna roll is seasoned and flavoured nicely, a few times the sushi chef added little bits of tempura in it which added a really nice texture to it. I guess it depends on who makes it, but I wished it was consistently like this because it was mind-blowingly good!
And lastly their dynamite roll is amazing because of the avocado!!! They give you a generous amount of avocado and it is always perfectly ripe - something that another reviewer mentioned.
I almost always order this spicy combo because it’s THAT tasty! Their bento box is also a really good deal and their chicken teriyaki is delicious
All in all, it’s no Miku but definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area and craving for sushi.
First time, I went with my boyfriend, he ordered a sushi combo and salmon sashimi. I ordered a chicken teriyaki bento box. We couldn't finish all the food but it was delicious and tasty! I definitely would go back if I'm in hasting area! I should try foods in their menu!!
Great service. Good sized portions. Quality of food is great. Very clean restaurant is a bonus.
Great new addition to neighborhood. My husband and I went for dinner last night and we were pleasantly surprised.
We ordered agedashi tofu, seaweed salad, shrimp tempura, tuna tataki, deep fried calamari, Hawaii roll, spider roll and red dragon role.
Portions were VERY generous (lots of take away), the hot food was served piping hot and crispy, and the prices were great (our meal cost less than $50 with grand opening discount). Everything was fresh, service was quick/friendly and they did a good job updating the place - clean, minimalist decor (kept the wall mural). Lots of people coming in to pick up their takeaway.
I believe if you live in the area and you enjoy sushi you should check it out!
Tried the beef teriyaki bento box for $6.95. Good value. Tempura was very crispy. Decent amount of beef. Only issue was that the rice used for the California roll was a bit too sticky (? Very fresh rice). We came in right at restaurant opening hour. Tea was pipping hot. Server came to check up on us and refilled tea. This prices are comparable to other sushi restaurants in the area.
